@nila3095 жыл бұрын
I used to think this hair was a severe waste of money because it was so expensive for crocheting and a sew in would cost essentially the same. Then I realized that this could be reused and for someone with scalp issues, this hair can see the water without going to pieces. So, I equate it to doing microbraids with human hair. If you’re willing to pay the price you’ll have more style versatility and your care routine would more closely mirror how you’d care for your own hair. You wouldn’t be wasting products on synthetic fiber. That said, I still like my inexpensive synthetic hair.

Genuine question: what’s the point of this? I know for myself the real thrill of crochet is the price. Usually $5 per pack, for 5 packs puts me at $25. But with this, doing some quick math 5 packs at $30 is $150, might as well get a sew in for that. I suppose someone who has allergic reactions to synthetic hair might benefit, but again, why not a sew in? Like I said not trying to be nasty, just curious. Hell, I might jump on the bandwagon myself if there’s an actual good reason.
@DivineYou76 жыл бұрын
Kayla Elaine I hear you, maybe it's just how simple it is and the fact you can get to your scalp better than a sew in
@shayblack66536 жыл бұрын
I still believe its cost effective because the hair for a sew in on top of the cost of installation could be over $300. (Unless you're doing it yourself) I can crochet hair in myself , so I would save $.

This was quite informative! Thx for the upload. I'm one of those people who 1) doesn't wear weaves but 2) works out a lot [yoga, hiking, swimming, Krav maga, rowing etc.] so this is a happy medium for me *especially* when travelling abroad. It did make me wonder how the hair would've looked on you had you given the whole thing some really nice loose curls but just the one you did was promising and once it reverted on camera I was curious. It is human so I expected it to cost more than typical synthetic packs so that's fine by me. I look forward to enjoying the versatility!! ☺

My other issue with this is that SCALP OIL WILL BREAKDOWN THE ELASTIC OVER TIME, so i'm afraid of 'strands' falling out without my knowledge. This may likely require weekly washing (usual washing regimen) to prevent oil buildup, but oiling scalp as usual will be a problem.

Okay so i remembered why i never do crechet any more! i tried the "braidless method.. and when i was taking it out i cut out a chunk of my hair in the front! yikes. I had the sense to use a net for the back part and it was easier! PROTIP *use a weaving or netted cap to crochet the hair.. like a crochet wig, then sew THAT onto your braids* So much easier to take off and you wont cut your hair trying to get tiny crochet strands out of the front.
@Chin7156 жыл бұрын
Kalifornia Soul Do you have a video where someone us demonstrating how they do that? Trying to envision it. Wouldn't there be a band in the front and you couldn't part it?
@KD-dr3gy6 жыл бұрын
you can't see the band, its basically making a crochet wig with a part.. the same way you'd do it on your head but on the net. For the part you just make it in the cap. Mark a part, crochet the hair on either side and then cut it, then you can make a part in your own hair and sew either side of the wig.. i'm not sure i'm explaining it well, but its a method i prefer. There are lots of videos showing the crochet wig technique, then i just sew it to my head at a few anchor points kzbin.info/www/bejne/e56VmX2tlLKoebc
@nila3095 жыл бұрын
I’ve never cut my own hair doing a takedown of my crochet braids. I cut the hair about 4-5 inches away from my scalp then patiently remove the knots with my hands. It’s worth it to me to remove it slowly like that. Using a cap for me won’t work because o have to get at that scalp to cleanse it. But those caps are great for making a crochet wig.

I'm looking at these little elastics in between and I feel like they can be reused as long as the hair is still good quality. And as long as you dont cut them out. Just taking out all those damn knots one by one...😢 I'm sure theres plenty of crochet hair I could've reused 🤣
@SeunOkimi6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I used 5 packs! And yes, because the knots are made on the elastic part when you put them in, it's easy to take out, and the hair won't become a tangled mess in the process, making it easier to reuse. However if you already wore it for a long time the first time, you may not be able to get much more wear out of it since this is only beauty supply store hair.
