Yeah, the aiming definitely matters. Can see that on Connor's attempt at 21 as well. His blow wasn't lined up well.

Garnt had too much "arm" and not enough "body" in his punch. His punch was more forearm "whip" than the others, that's why he was missing the center. He couldn't chain the body drop and punch, so there wasn't as much body weight behind his strike. I think it comes down to him not contracting his abs during the drop, his drop is more "leg" and you can see Connor and Joey the legs and abs contract in one smooth motion. Kaho's last attempt was actually pretty solid, simple, straight motion with her body weight focused into to her strike spot.
