not super versed in the racket game but I spent two weeks with this thing and it’s incredible.

Yesss… it’s very good. You must have been hitting monster FHs & Serves with it. I think it could be even better with good customization.

The racquet appeals to those that like hitting flatter balls with accuracy - think Blade and Gravity. It’s a constant 23mm beam so has a fairly solid response but isn’t the most nimble moving in the air. Personally I like it with thin gauge (1.15) shaped poly strings as there is little spin help from the frame. The frame seems to be most at home flattening out shots at the baseline or blocking volleys at the net. It’s lack of manoeuvrability hurts it most when trying to play top spin approach shots

I agree, it feels sluggish on most shots. The stringbed is pretty predictable which gives it good accuracy but not much help with spin.

Hey man, that feeling you had your backhand and the power is real. I think it's to do with the slight inconsistency of the stringbed. Small amount of lead spread around the hoop like 7,9,12,2 and 4 completely fixed the problem for me. What really stands out with this racket is the feel. If you dial in with your string set up all the other rackets like your extreme with start feeling really rough and boardy afterwards. Because of this amazing feel you build an incredible precision and control not of bat though but definitely in time.

What string setup do you use?
@sinand8812 ай бұрын
I tried several strings, because the stringbed is already soft I decided on confidential 1.20 full bed. It's crisp with plenty of bite, yet still comfortable, definitely 1.20 for me though as its a tighter string pattern

Still a lover of the Vcore Pro 97 from 2021. Slap some Yonex PolyTour Rev purple in there and the control and even pace is insanity. I tried the Percept line, but didn’t get the feel that I enjoy with the Vcore Pro. Btw, I have four 5inch strips of lead from about midway up the “hoop” to the 10 and 2 position for stability and plow through. Swing weight is 330 and static weight is at 345grams.

I have this racquet and its deadly on slices, serves and slice serves. The low launch angle took quite a bit of getting used to.

I tried the percept 97 but not 100 but had a similar experience. My forehand enjoyed it, I could hit harder and not have to worry about it going out. But my backhand was worse with the lower launch angle, more backhands going into the net.

Hi my friend, have you ever hit with a tennis racquet that is made of Kevlar? I have been playing with the Wilson Profile 95 for decades and all around it’s the best racquet I’ve have ever owned and played with. The Profile on return of serves is amazing because the racquet doesn’t bend, and no matter how hard someone serves the racquet will never bend and it’s an amazing feeling to rip returns with that racquet, and groundies are similar and you are able to really control the pace and the ball, the only thing that I would change is the beam is a little bit thicker, and I would have the beam a little bit thinner, and I would make it a 100sq inches and I would make the racquet 27.5 inches long, instead of 27. Other than that I think Kevlar racquet’s are amazing. I play with the Wilson Blade V6 98 now and I am still learning how to adjust my swing because the Profiles are 13 once’s and around 355 grams, and the Blade is around 11 once’s and around 280 grams, I had to adjust my string tension to mid 30s because I started getting tennis elbow because the racquet is so light. I was looking into the Perception but the Yonex frame is a weird feeling to me. But I did play with RD7 and back in the early 90s and I liked the feel of the racquet on the serve and you can really get a lot of spin on kickers with that racquet, the forehand was okay, but on the backhand side the racquet seemed like it was very bendy and it was like a elastic slingshot type of hitting. Thank you for your honest review because it’s really hard to find a new racquet after playing with a racquet for decades. Thank you again my friend.

Which tennis string would you recommend for the racket? Unfortunately, your setup is not available in Germany.

I also tried this one out. I sold it. It is not a bad one. Something was missing, except my talent. Maybe in the end I hated this paintjob.
@r3tr0n172 ай бұрын
As you grow older, you should lower your tennis string tension to save your hands from getting fatigued and an injury & wear compression sleeves.

PLEASE! How do you rate this one against Speed Pro, Boom Pro, or Blade? What would be your pick? I've been dying to know this, but I couldn't demo this one so far. Appreciate your input! 🙂

How would compate percept to speed mp? Im mostly interested in manuvarbility ? I have speed mp and its really weird whiile swinging, like all mass in the throat i dont feel the racket whip or transfer the mass correctly.

I think I know what you mean. I liked the feeling of this one swinging through the air more than Speed .

I’ve demoed this racket and it’s not really a frame that works for the 1HBH. I found it quite difficult to bring my 1HBH around fast enough versus what I can do with my VCore 95 2021 and 2023.
@The4.0Guy2 ай бұрын
Agree, sluggish, rarely caught the ball.early on the 1 hander, probably good for 2 handers that hit flat though
