Full immersion is definitely the way to go when possible. I did 8 weeks of language training before moving to Mexico. Depends on the person, but for me, I started to understand quite a bit after 2 months or so, and then I felt comfortable speaking fully after about 7-8 months of being there. It’s super cool once you start thinking in the language you’re learning. Good luck on your other languages!!

Good video Zach! You did pretty well. I am just starting to try and learn Spanish. Obviously every region of Spanish speaking countries can have little differences. I'd heard that the Argentine Spanish is quite closely aligned with Italian. Have you heard this or did you find anything out about this during your time in Buenos Aires?

it's challenging to learn a language,but it's even more difficult when you need to learn two languages at the same time. I live in Montreal Canada. I moved there 10 years ago. My first language is Spanish and I can tell you that learning French was the most difficult to master. It took me around 3 years to be totally fluent in both languages.

Listen songs in spanish maybe be helpful, too. Soda Stereo , was a very good musician group. Maná mexican group, too. Movies like, El hijo de la novia, El secreto de sus ojos, Un cuento chino, Argentina 1985, No sos vos , soy yo;Tiempo de valientes, Música en espera. Series: Los simuladores, El encargado , are good in my opinion. Vos only use in Argentina o Uruguay. In the rest of countries is tú . Congrats!!!

After two years of learning Spanish, the closest I've had to a conversation with a native is a short back and forth in KZbin comments.
