Growing up on a council estate, back in the 80s, beans on toast was a staple. Still love it to this day. Foreigners mock us for it, but if they tried it they may enjoy it's simplicity.

With grated cheese in the beans n a poached egg in top, my favourite.

@@shaunhutton2827yeah you always need butter in the beans. It really makes beans taste so rich and tasty. Sometimes I put some oregano in too if I’m in the mood for it. But butter is a must do.

Find out at your local supermarkets what time they reduce products before they close. If you can wrestle a few Eastern Europeans out of the way, you’ll pick up some cracking bargains for the challenges

As I said in last video the 23p for that small tin was not a good deal.. a full 420g tin is only 29p. eggs are 10 for £1.33 in Tesco so 13p not 20p. there is the option for tin spaghetti 19p. on toast. NOOOO not Jamie Oliver Uncle Nigel is not going to be happy. hiya.

They’re different from Heinz. How very dare you 🤣 I agree with your mate. Tesco’s are best. Heinz are a. More vinegary, b. Too sweet, c. 3x the price

Personally, I think "man-eating beans on toast" sounds terrifying! I'm assuming it's some sort of genetic modification. 🙂

@hannakinn10 минут бұрын
Fun fact, I am not from the UK but suspect I may be the reincarnation of an English Person because since I was a child beans, like Heinz and Campbell's have been one of my favorite foods. Without anyone else in the family doing it I knew to have beans on toast. I do put a bit of butter in my beans if my toast is not buttered and as an adult I add cheese or make cheese toast and top it with beans and butter. My mom has told me that I'd embarrass her when as a child the family would go out to eat in upscale resturants and I'd want to order beans and be upset that they were not on the menu. I have often said if I could only have an endless supply of one food to take to survive for 5 years on a desert island, with no need to regard nutritional requirements, I would choose canned Heinz or Campbell style beans, my 2nd choice would be chocolate. Nothing has changed since I was age 4, Lol.

All wild cards are ingredients you’d have at home and take money off the budget soooo 🤷🏼♂️
@hannakinn39 минут бұрын
I disagree if he has to spend money on a whole container of oil or a bag or block of cheese or butter it makes the challenges impossible. I have been super poor and I still did have a few items in my cupboards and fridge. I had oil, pancake syrup, flour, mama, sugar, beans, pasta, rice, things I'd bought in bulk. I don't think most people run completely out of everything. They run out of meats and interesting ingredients. Atomic Shrimp and other vloggers that do these types of challenges also give themselves allowances. It's not cheating. I suggest you create your own content showing us how you can eat 3 meals a day for the equivalent of 2 ponds a day with only items you've bought for the challenge, it will be interesting to see!
@4LuvOfGAIA6 минут бұрын
@hannakinn If I had little money I would try to buy one item per week in bulk and maybe one pantry item. Eventually I would have a stocked pantry. I've seen challenges where people do this. It makes sense.
