When I studied to become a nurse, one teacher told us that taking walks, specifically finding new paths and increasing this network of paths in your head is the best way to prevent dementia. Was reminded of this when I saw you wander aimlessly through the woods😂 Keep it up!

My biggest mistake is that I am wearing the headphones while walking. I went to Alps last weekend- no electronics, only camera... Super snowy. Only me and nature, no people around. Haven't had so clear mind for a long, long time ❤I love this feeling

Norway is kinda paradise for most things I think... maybe not like... the beach or surfing. But most other things haha.

As you figured out, the only rule for taking walks is that there are no rules. You can experiment with location, duration, etc. and do what works for you at any given time. 👍 Thank you for the video!

Im often unsure which youtube videos wasted most of my lifetime, but i dont feel like wasting any time watching yours. I don t know when i started watching yout videos. Probably around the lucid dreaminfg video..i just like the self improvement community - not all of it, but your videos always had a style i liked and i just enjoy seeing you grow as a person and doing the same my way- always getting some ideas out of your videos to integrate into my life.. all the best for you! -Sam

Neat video Jonne! I agree. A lot of the benefits in my personal opinion, on walking depend on how much free time, I have. Like, during the warmer months, I am less busy so I don't mind going on longer walks verses the Fall time where I am more busy. Not that, i don't enjoy seeing the leaves change but I find myself rushing to get back home. So, I go on more short walks. And the colder months I only go out because I need to most of the time.

„So for this walk I just went out the door and had no agenda.“ Recorded several drone shots, head shots and B roll for the video essay he’s about to create. 😅

Always enjoy your videos as good food for thought! Hope you anxiety keeps getting better and thank you for sharing your journey with us! I'm definitely curious, but understand if you don't want to share, what your working day is like/entails? Could be a cool/interesting video. Either way, looking forward to the next one!

I recommend going for the walk without specific length in mind. I have similary few routes and variations in my area and quite often the process takes over and I choose a longer variation. On other days it's the shorter one but at least you got out a litle.

When I go on walks, I don't think about anything. I go on walks to relax and not think about anything. But I would love to run there, it looks like a paradise for trail running!

This was a great Video man. Going on walks helped me so much in my personal life as well. For everyone more interested in this topic, there is a great philosophical analysis video called "The Humane Arts: Walking" by Wes Cecil here on KZbin, it´s a really interesting one :)

Awesome video as always! Looking forward to hear more about the clarity you gained about your future plans! Unrelated: what are your thoughts on doing a bike-packing trip some time? Not sure if the injury allows it, but it could be a fun adventure to do (and to watch)

So I don't want to sound like a typical American, but I'm sure I will. I have dealt with the same issues with anxiety and lack of focus for most of my life. I ended up getting diagnosed with ADHD (not hyperactive though) and got on Ritalin. This not only helped with my focus, but also helped control my almost debilitating anxiety that would lead to depression at times. I took have done the same strategies with walking and instrumental type music as coping mechanisms to help with my focus, but for me the medicine helped me get out of my own way with the anxiety.

My big goal for 2025 is a big step goal and I am planning to have some routine walks to up my steps. I love the idea of a thinking path and will definitely be incorporating this!

The walk allows the mind to process freely. The walk itself doesn't create insight.

Question: When you're not recording a video, and you really do come up with a thought or an idea or something... Do you narrate this thought in English, or Finnish, or sometimes one and sometimes the other?

Stop with AI drawing, it makes your wonderful video look cheap : Use real photo / portrait of what you are talking about instead !

Great video! You are a man of the mind, very analitical, but it seems to me that you are a litle unhappy with your life. That you are trying to correct something. I simply think that you are just overthinking stuff and life in general. Simplify every action of your life and you will notice a big change… Keep up with these fantastic videos. Cheers from Portugal.
