This is REALLY good, but I think Touhou themes have a more frantic and fast-paced feel. This being said, the ending part was *spot on*, the intro just feels a bit slow. (I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL, I HAVE ALSO ONLY HEARD THE EoSD OST IN ITS ENTIRETY)

I drew some inspiration from “emotional” boss music where the build up is slow then goes all in! Kind of like the boss says something then unleashes the power and thus, the fight begins! But yeah, you’re right about touhou themes should sound fast-paced. Apologies if didn’t do justice there!

Thanks for the suggestion! Maybe you meant the brass with that i added in the melody is what you meant (i might be wrong) but i’ll try to lower them a bit, or maybe the real bass as well. Thanks again!

I feel like you almost hit the mark with this It does sound good albeit a bit off with the zunpets (and the drums when the zunpets come in) I think it just needs an added flare, yk? The more ambient instruments DEFINITELY did their job tho Great attempt!👍 Keep trying your best!

By flare you mean something like signal that says it's changing right? Yeah, now that you mentioned it, every verse kicking in seems kind of too sudden. Also, now that you mentioned it again, the drums do feel off. I'm not sure what is the cause here since I know next to none about drums and needed to watch tutorial on touhou drum patterns. Maybe some instruments in the melody has slight attack that throws the pattern off? Glad you liked the ambient stuffs tho :D really digging the Fantasia so much that I started using it for strings (though i think it's not what it is supposed to be used for lol). Will try my best in my next work!

you did good, but the hi hats (the short 'tff' drum noise) should be played earlier, since it feels better also tips for touhou's style, ZUN uses chorus & flanger a lot for effects, not much treble EQ on any instruments (maybe cut it out on the master), velocity changing/sliding on some instruments (eg. 0: 15 in apparitions stalk the night, you also could've slided down the notes at 0:26 to a lower velocity instead of cutting abruptly), at 0:07 you ended the chord progression w/ a different chord but in a lot of touhou music, it usually holds on the same chord also at the subtitless for 0:09 you said I guess twice

Thanks for the detailed suggestion! About the drums, I mostly followed the tutorial I watched since I don't know that much about drums, but the hi-hats however, I think i changed it a little bit (not sure for good or bad). About chorus and flanger, maybe that's why I couldn't replicate the instruments and sounds ZUN did! I've seen flanger being talked about quite a while, but don't really know what it does. And also been testing out chorus thingy (in a synth plugin i just downloaded) to see what it does and what it can achieve. Thanks for the advice about the plugins! I've also noted the sliding down to lower velocity down and i'll be trying it out! The chord progression at the beginning, I chose to end with a 5 instead of the normal 6-7-1 was because it gave off a melancholy vibe (kind of edgy now that i think about it). But I apologize if i swayed away from the Touhou-ness too much! And also, sorry for screwing up the subtitle, i was very nervous at that time about this! not sure if it's a good idea to fix it or let it be.
