Nintendo’s roster being mostly in-house characters with occasional third party characters is what allows the crossover to actually be special. Sakurai spent so much time polishing characters like Cloud, Snake, and Sora so that their parent companies would be willing to license them. This is just WB dumping all the shit they own out of their toy box, and it’s actual lying disturbing how much is there. I play every Smash Clone that comes out, and I play them a lot. This is a fun game, but aside from a blandly cartoonish art style, my biggest problem is what this game represents, which is endless and all consuming corporate homogenization. It’s the Space Jam 2 of videogames, and I fucking hate Space Jam 2.
