In this video I am testing out a dip powder by Nailboo. This tutorial and review will feature the dip powder named Date Night. The pro set is shown in the video comes with six dip powders.
Thanks to the craziness of 2020, I have not been able to visit my manicurist, so I decided to give this company a try and see if the results are similar to the gel nails I normally get.
I hope you enjoy this dip powder tutorial. Let me know if you have tried the dip powder by Nailboo and how you feel about it.
Again, I ordered and paid for the product myself, but I was given a link for anyone that would like to save $10 on their order.

came across this while looking for honest reviews of Nailboo. just wanted to say that after watching another review, there was a couple of tips. One was to clean the bottle necks with some acetone or alcohol before screwing back closed. another was to have a paper towel to just wipe the brush across when applying the first layer of top coat on so as to prevent ANY of the activator from getting into the top coat bottle. It was stated that if this occurs, it could thicken and harden the top coat liquid as well as stiffening the brush resulting in it not fanning out as well when applying product to the nail. LOVED this review out of all I've seen. Very detailed. Thanks for doing what you do.

Will you explain what you meant by using a paper towel to wipe the brush across when applying the first layer of top coat? Do you mean before and after each mail? I haven’t done by first set yet, and honestly, I’m so intimidated!
@AloftAloft
@AloftAloft 2 жыл бұрын
@@annetaylor527 Don't be intimidated. It sounds more complicated than it really is. We use the paper towel to wipe off any residue/dip that is on the bristles. It's more for the second or third dip instead of the first dip. Using this red powder as an example, when dipping into the jar for the second coat, if I noticed the brush was red after I applied a layer of base on top of the red powder then I would wipe the brush on the paper towel before putting the brush back into the bottle to prevent contamination. This also applies to the activator bottle and when using glitters.

Hey thank you!!!!!!!! I was freaking out because I just followed that little instruction book and my nails came out looking like they were done by a drunk toddler who missed naptime and thought I was gonna steal his daddy. And I'm not a pro- that's why I usually go to the pros- but I can slap on a decent manicure that'll do in dim light. This was something else though... and I was like, is it me or did Paris goddamned Hilton just convince me to buy a bad product? I feel calmer after your video. It looks like it's more of a time commitment than I thought I was signing up for, but it looks doable, and you have so many tips not even on the website. Thank you! I will succeed!

Nice tutorial, I have to agree with your impressions of the file, the worst I’ve ever used. I’m not sure if you noticed but top and base are the exact same product, they contain the same exact ingredients. I had such a hard time with opening the bottles myself too, what a pain however, I’ve been using step 4, the cleaner bottle to clean the brushes, always need to remember to clean the bottles with acetone to prevent the gunkiness hardening and making it almost impossible to open the bottles.

Hi! thanks for this tutorial. I actually got my first kit yesterday and I just found your video today and did my first set along with you. I gotta say for it being a home kit it and my first time it came out great. I did the big blush and than solar shimmer on ring finger. colors are actually pretty lighter than what I expected but they are still pretty neutral colors. thanks again for your video and yes you do need your own buffer and file. luckily I already had some of my own.

Yay! I’m glad the video helped you. I used Big Blush my very first time too. I was worried how it would turn out so I picked the lighter color in case it looked bad 😆

thank you for sharing the info on the cleanser polish cause when I used the top coat 2x like they said, the brush wash kinds hard and it was my first time using it. for $140 I would think it will last a little longer before they get hard in one use. I will try to use the cleaner on that brush. thanks again!

I bought this and used it once so far, (not much time on my hands)... I'm not a pro with doing my own nails unless they are press-on nails but this wasn't bad for my first try. The whole process for me took about 30 mins or so. I need a lot of practice but looking forward to it. It lasted about 2 weeks for me so yay for that LOL. Overall, I like it, except for the nail file... The nail file it comes with is trash, so my advice is to use your own file and buffer.

I was considering trying. Glad to have watched your review. Great review and great job you did on your Nails. After seeing this the process is too lengthy for me. I've also tried The Vanity Table Gel Nails which I also like because they come right off with no long process of removal or damage to nails.

I did figure out you can fix mistakes if you do one whole hand but don't apply the activator. Then if you have peaks of overbuild or covered cuticles, you can easily file it off THEN I apply the activator. I keep playing with this stuff and getting new colors, so I have yet to keep it on longer than a week, but I did put it on my daughter's nails when I got my starter set, and she still has it here about 6-7 weeks later. We're doing her new ones tomorrow. I bought the Onyx soak off and pour it into a Ziploc, then work it off with my fingertips. Takes about 5 minutes per hand 👌🏻

I also have Nailboo and I love it. I will say that I agree with you on the nail file that comes with it. Also, you have to be careful when applying the base coat. You want to make sure that it dries some before dipping a 2nd or 3rd time because if not, the nail begins to look deformed and then you will have to file it down and reshape it more. Overall, I think it is a great kit to have. The one complaint I have is how the top coat and base coat dries when you put the lids back on because if you aren't careful, you won't be able to get it off for future use. I speak from experience and unfortunately, I had to throw mine away and order more. Loved the review! It was definitely accurate. :)

Yes, I can definitely do a video on that. But the easiest explanation is, I use a 4 way buffer. The one that has the smooth, shine and buff sides. I use a regular file too (for shaping) but the buffer makes my nails look the best.
