I used to play Volt switch and wild charge zerora just for fun, I used to use volt switch first very far away from enemy then wild charge them and volt switch back, enemies used to get confused where I went.

I used to play this immediately after hitting Masters *before they buffed both these moves* for fun, because its pretty terrible, but really makes you think twice as hard about every play you make.

The way to make this build work would be to make volt switch return window larger and have its cooldown start on the first cast

You know what's stupid about the selecting moves? Where we "select" the movesets we want, only to select again, the movesets we want, during the battle... Often times, I lost because I selected the wrong move, when I already selected what move I wanted, before I started the game... Stupid game design, I tell you.

The whole point of in battle move selection is to choose what move you need in the situation: For example, if you’re playing against more melee characters as Pikachu, you should probably use Volt Tackle to stun them over Thunderbolt. The reason they let you choose before hand is to allow you to auto select them in case you don’t have the opportunity to during a fight. It’s just a preset for what you prefer to play.

@@noivernblast3366idk man for someone like me who plays mobile it’s very easy to press the wrong thing and click on the wrong moveset. Especially if you’re in a battle most of the time you’re gonna miss click trying to eject out

​@@noivernblast3366 If so, then they should've let you hold the button to change, if not have another method if you've selected wrong because you wanted to click on the Items tab instead of the skill... (I'm playing on Mobile, this happens often.)

@@SleepyBuggo That happens to me often as well... Since you'd level up and the option would block the Items button. Hence fucking you up then and there for the rest of the match. There's no "Hold to select" option either. No other method. This part of the game, absolutely stupid game design.

I just played against a zeraora using this build (but with spark) and he destroyed me, I noticed that when you use a video it suddenly becomes popular, which makes sense with a lot of mons, I myself tried some of them, but usually people start using a certain build AFTER you post a video with it, not before you post it

Maybe I just suck at Zera and don't understand his pulling mechanic well, but he just feels so underwhelming. He hits so slow, moves so slow, has high cooldowns, volt switch has such a short duration, etc. The only success I've had with him is attack weight, weakness policy, energy amp with x attack on volt switch/discharge to nuke with my ult. Even then, if the ult/discharge volt switch combo doesn't one shot the enemy team, I just die.

What finally made things click in place for me many seasons ago was when I started playing around its passive and choosing my moves and items based on that. The key components to this are; Spark/Discharge with Focus-Band/Weakness-Policy. This is because you gain power when losing HP so you want to focus on sustaining in a fight. Your extra options are either Razor Claw or Cookie for your held item and for the Battle Item either X-Attack or Potion. My personal preference is lane with Potion/Cookie, as it helps it immensely in the later parts of the match. X-Attack is good primarily for early-game I find. Hope this helps~!
