Omggg I relate so much to the issues with cooking chicken. I only very recently learnt how to properly cook it. At one point I was solely eating chicken breasts as they are easier to cook and avoided chicken thighs as it takes longer and I always end up burning them ( for fear of eating raw chicken)😅

I agree with the comments about using a food thermometer. It has taken all my stress away with cooking meat. You can find the correct temperatures for each kind of meat online! Also you will learn how the texture of cooked meat looks, but I dont like to have to cut my meat to see if it is done. It's great you are trying recipes outbid your comfort zone. Dont give up! Im all for taz learning how to do cooking, but if there is an online cooking class or one in her area i would suggest that. I was lucky enough in middle school that they still had home economics and i learned some cooking but mostly sewing and then my mom taugh me her way of cooking. Also if you dont have a big enough lid just use tinfoil to cover it up

QUICK HACK!! for the onions you don’t need to cut it horizontally just chop them off and use your hands to separate it into pieces….that’s how I do it 😊

Hey Taz! I used to have the same problem with chicken or other meats. I bought a meat thermometer and it sooths my brain and prevents over cooking. Get one, it's online about 10$ and you will stop over cooking your food, i promise.

Hey Taz, thanks for another video 😂, in future weather you have the right size lid or not you can use foil (or a plastic bag if things are tough😅) and then put the lid on, the foil helps keep the steam in, just in case you want to do this again❤

When i was still eating meat, i would simply have a designated 'sample' piece of meat. So, I'd cut into the same piece a couple of time to check if it's cooked thru. I'd always go for one if the biger pieces, just to make sure that the other piecers must be cooked thru as well.

Hey Taz, try cooking the rice dish in a pressure cooker or rice cooker( if you want slow cooked) it will solve both your problems. Also try a little butter on the couscous dish for added flavour. Loved the video BTW..

The meals look great. An insta-read thermometer will let know know if your chicken is at the proper internal temperature, while you're cooking it. I use mine everytime, nor only for chicken , but also fish and other foods.

If you’re ever concerned about meat being undercooked I’d suggest getting a food temperature probe/thermometer. As a chef I use it all the time to see if food has reached the temperature deemed out of the danger zone

Buy a meat thermometer!!! All the anxiety goes away when cooking meat and they're not that expensive. I've got mine in Tesco and now can't imagine cooking meat without it. Can test when it's fully cooked and also stop at the exact time it's cooked so the meat is a lot softer and juicer, especially when cooking chicken ☺

I have this weird eating thing where I get obsessed with a certain food and will only eat that . I do this for around 2 weeks and then I hate the food and start on something new .
