im a coffee advocate and if u find coffee bitter it’s usually because it was roasted too quickly and partially burnt. slow roast coffee is usually more expensive and harder to find, but the difference is AMAZING. i used to prefer my coffee light roast with cream and now i actually like dark roasts and rarely put cream anymore. it still has a bold taste, but its very smooth and it doesnt have that weird after taste. i hope u can try some sometime :)

All coffee beans have bitter compounds - some are less bitter - like arabica beans - also French pressing and how the coffee is processed can reduce bitterness - but - all coffee is bitter to some degree - there may be multiple articles on the internet saying otherwise - but science disagrees

The opera dessert is indeed very popular, but it is usually a treat for an occasion. Parisians are very health conscious and would probably have fruit as a dessert on regular days, or a coffee or piece of chocolate. Taz im french and literally the dauphinois is so easy to make, so if you enjoyed it so much you should try it. Just cut some potatoes in thin slices, add salt pepper, liquid cream, garlic and cheese and put it in the oven !

At 10:55 It is not pate, but the worldwide famous (but sometimes controversial) "Foie Gras" Which means fat liver, it is made by using the natural ability from geese and ducks to store fat in their livers, so farmers gorge the birds with corn for a few weeks, until the liver is gorged. If your Foie Gras was sweet, then it was not properly spiced, but sometimes they are flavored with Port wine, which makes them sweet ! You definitely have to overcome your fears and try two things : the "escargots de Bourgogne" aka Burgundy snails and the "cuisses de grenouilles" aka frogs' legs... Despite what you might think, it is definitely a real treat :-) Lastly, I would very strongly recommend a place to have an outstanding meal experience while in Paris, but out of the traditional and very expensive gastronomic ones... "l'Ami Jean" lamijean.fr/, a quite legendary Chef, that revolutionized traditional fooding, and quite created what is called now "bistronomy"... Menu is quite cheap (for Paris) especially when you are served the best of the best in a relax place !!!

3 minutes in and Im already excited. Du Pain et Des Idees is THE BEST!! I went there last time I was in Paris and LOVED it. And yes you can get a baguette sandwich pretty much anywhere there, the bread is always a bit dense, but lovely none the less! Also, I think macarons are the same as berets. It's a tourist thing that Parisians don't actually give a toss about.

Your French is good especially when we know French is really hard to speak. Macarons are expensive so we don't get it often. And I'm not sure that is duck paté, I think it's foie gras.
