What it looks like so far is that the info is presented to you far better, and you can learn the systems better because the info is more accessible. My 2 cents which are worth nothing.

Pretty new to PoE played up to level 4 back when it came out. Just started playing it again along with Diablo IV to find a good ARPG for me and my friends, loving both of them but really excited for PoE 2 providing more simplicity, better graphics, better sound design, cross-play support and wasd movement.

I am someone who hates WASD + keybinds since I get my fingers all twisted. When I first tried out WoW it was rough, and, like you, the MMO mouse did not feel right to me. I ended up buying a Razer Tartarus gaming keypad, which is essentially a half keyboard for your left hand but has a joystick for your thumb. This felt incredible to use and it what I plan on playing PoE 2 with. Definitely recommend checking it out for anyone who gets their fingers twisted trying to hit keybinds with WASD like me.

Razer Tartarus is great. Lately I recommend the Azeron Cyborg as the truely better device. True analog stick, with better keys and quality. I've bought and broken 3 different Razer Tartarus in the same amount of time I've had my cyborg now without issue. Really excited to play poe2 with it.

I love that they add couch coop to PC. Just recently my brother visited me (also a non gamer) and we wanted to play something. Diablo 4 came to mind but while i own a ps5, i have the game on pc and no ps+. So my option was to buy it again on ps5 and the ps+ abo to enable another brother to join us. We ended up watching a movie instead.

@@a2daj83 Jeah, it looks like thats gonna be the big limiting factor with gems. There are plenty of no brainer's that you put on most of your utility skills otherwise. Now instead of not having enough socket space, you have to decide where your Enhance and Increased duration goes.

I feel like that insane skill web is going to be a big hurdle for a lot of people. Even I, someone who has been playing games for over 30 years, am daunted by it. I bounced off POE1 so many times, and most of those times it was because of the skill web thing just being too much. I'm sure its great for people who love to go deep and really learn every single little thing about the systems of a game, but I like to just pick it up and go, if I ever feel like I need to go read a wiki or watch a guide video or anything like that I immediately start to lose interest. I like things to be very intuitive I guess, I also don't like being punished for not knowing the most optimum thing to do every time, which was another problem with POE1.

I don't like that support gems are unique but will wait and see how they handle it. Something like added lightning damage was important in lightning damage builds where you used more than one ability. PoE1 generally had very limited supports for whatever you were doing that actually was impactful, be it damage over time, ranged attack, melee, etc... we generally went to the same cookie cutter supporters largely because the others were mostly garbage. I don't think the answer is making them unique, the answer is to have a lot of good choices rather than just a few. I think the generic weakness of PoE1 support gems is they for the most part are mostly just number padding, so the biggest number was the best, you just plugged it in PoB and whicheve rnumber was bigger was your best support gem. I think they could have got around this by having more secondary benefits to support gems that weren't numerically the best for damage, like adding a projectile or proccing some other effect. If the design is overly simple (and supports were) then it just devolves to min/maxing.

Good to know controller feels good in PoE2. I don't think GGG can magically fix the fact that WASD only has 8 directions of movement and that to me was a massive downside even for D2 and I honestly don't understand why blizz deliberately copied that problem into D2R now they do have the tech. Even in WoW I move by holding down both mouse buttons only ever touching WASD if I need to peak an angle while moving :')

i have 2 gripes at the moment. Dodge Rolling move doesnt fit all the class fantasies equally well. It fits say a warrior or a monk, but necromancer or elementalist? no thanks. So i wish every class had their own dodge rolling ability. and second is i fear its gonna be a lawnmower fest like poe 1 down the line in later acts
