That’s not sardine but anchovies 😅. Sardine is a lot bigger and mixed together with tomato sauce in a can which you can easily find in any supermarket. Btw, the shape of the spoon is what they built for containing the rice with other dishes before we put it in our mouths, it is a lot easier and more satisfying.

great adventure at Kampung Baru. Tropical fruit like mango is plentiful with many variety and cheap also. So mango shake should be full cream shake. When ordering juice or shake, I would order with "kosong" or zero that i.e. no added sugar no condensed milk no ice-cream to get the real taste of the fruit. Next time try different tropical fruit shake.😁

Wow for many days in Malaysia, this is the first time you tried Nasi lemak? Didn't expect. If you have tried Nasi lemak, you should also try Nasi Dagang or Nasi Kerabu from the east coast and the restaurant is just in front of Wanjo Restaurant. But I think you are not a fan of Rice. Kampung Baru means new village but it is actually more than 100 years old, an area gifted by the Sultan of Selangor to the Malays.

Fried peanuts were missing. Best to eat by mix em all. Not to eat one by one. Malaysian used to eat Nasi lemak on certain day for family menu. Then when population increase with economy growth, people start to sell & eat em every morning. Now we can have it anytime at any places. Mango smoothie is planet doug's (Canadian KZbinr) favourite too.

These are the few dishes you can try:..nasi kerabu, nasi dagang, nasi minyak, nasi lauk....nasi tomato.... As for noodle...mi kari, bakso, mi sup, Adam laksa.... Mind you......these are Malay food that you can get in Kampong Baru... Happy savoring....

Traditional nasi lemak is with hard boiled egg, not fried egg. Wanjo is a modern commercialised nasi lemak with various side dishes Traditional nasi lemak do not offer any side dishes. Hence, no need to checkout other people plates. Wanjo sambal is good for tourist, as it is not spicy. You did not finish your sambal. Sambal is the most important condiment in a nasi lemak and second would be the nasi and followed by the rest of the condiments.

@@the.yellow.princess That is how nasi lemak is rated in Malaysia. You may create something else that is similar to nasi lemak. You can have nasi campur with nasi lemak(rice only). Many shops offer these combinations. You can even go back to Wanjo, order the same thing without sambal.
