I have tens of thousands of views on my Etsy ad and only a single sale. Granted, most of the search terms are in the ballpark. I'm so reluctant to start using Facebook again since I just don't like it, but that's where the money's at.

Video well done. Good explanation. One issue I wrestle with is not just how to get some sales but how to make sure there's a profit. I sell items that range in price from $6 to $69. If I pay for clicks, I fear the $6 sales will actually lose me money, but the higher value ones will generate an actual profit. Any analysis of not just sales generated, but also profit? The reason I gave up with etsy is because even if people looked at my shop and my products, it never translated to people buying anything. At most I got a like or a favorite here and there. As you say as well, there are only so many things you can say about a pattern or a knitted piece.

Good video. Ive been on etsy one week and ive been running ads successfully with a small shop. You need a marketing strategy. Cant go in and throw money around and hope it sticks. Im going to try facebook next.

hello, can you still use facebook ads to great success even without using pixel? I have set my campaign up to be conversion based, but without a pixel im not sure it will work? as it wont let me put the pixel on my etsy. Am I better just driving traffic to my store through the ad campaign? or are you pushing traffic to a non etsy store like shopify and using pixel to sculpt your ads for you? thank you for the informative video! EDIT: I full screened the video and saw your directing to your own site, that makes more sense! can you recommend a service to make your own site? all the youtubers just promote what they get kick back from :(

You can't use the conversions option if you don't have a pixel (like on Etsy). You have to use 'traffic' or 'landing page views' instead. I always recommend offering a special coupon code in your ad so you can also track which sales come from Facebook ads and which come organically 😉 For building your website, the truth is that it doesn't really matter all that much what you choose 😊 I built my site using wordpress.org and woocommerce through a program by Renae Christine called Ultimate Architect (not an affiliate), but creating a site using Shopify or Squarespace are both great options! Use whichever platform you are most comfortable.

I am at the same stage it sounds like you were at? im making about £500 a month organically, my conversion rate is about 3%, and I want to start taking it to the next level but feel I have left it too late to capitalise in time because of christmas being so soon. Do you have a preferance over traffic or landing page veiws? they sound like the same thing, unless I am missing something... I will stop my conversion campaign as I can see from the first day results I didnt have it set right (hence learning more about pixel) last point, I am guessing that pixel from what I have read, is the game changer, and so should make my own site so I can sculpt the traffic exactly how I need? I take it there is only so much I will be able to do with choosing etsy traffic as the goal? I have been trying all sorts of things the last week wasting days tweaking tags to see zero change, and think it might be time to set up my own site and start sculpting my own traffic with pixel? or can you get the crazy results just driving traffic to your etsy page and just figuring it out without the pixel? I spent a week boosting posts to no results but only found the actual ad manager yesterday with all its options I am working through. Apologies for the wall of text! I mostly didnt expect a response let alone an informative one, I kept getting disheartened by seeing top shops doing 1k sales a DAY and then opening new shops, copying everything they do and getting 0 traffic haha, so I am back to concentrating on my own shop doing what I really enjoy :)

I've been looking around as to how to install a Facebook Pixel to track sales gained from Facebook, but it seems as if Etsy has removed Pixels. Can anyone confirm this or point me in the right direction as to how to resolve this?

This is correct. You can not install a pixel on an Etsy shop, so you have to do a lot of tracking (and guestimating) yourself if you advertise your Etsy shop on Facebook. I have had the best success advertising my own website where I have full control and using the Etsy shop as a sideline just pulling in people from the Etsy universe.

Ran same test and Etsy took more than the daily budget zero sales, listing are not shown to actual interested buyers. Worthless to use Etsy ads.

Thanks for the analysis. You are analyzing it too much into the keywords. I have a sneak feeling that most impression of Facebook and perhaps Etsy is from India impression farm anyways. Etsy and Facebook probably call them dearly as subcontractors. When I get this feeling it is very uncomfortable. Etsy is like a different country compared to Facebook. Etsy hotword is "gift for mom" and "best gift".
