Indian Thali is nothing like Thakali thali Indian food contain too much masala (spice) and oil. Nepali people do not use too much spice in our food. Also we don't cook our vegetables to death. Beer wise, try " Barasinghe" it is pilsner but it is very smooth. It is new trend.
@TheJourneyofJosh7 ай бұрын
Yeah now that I have had Nepali Thakali and Indian Thali, they are definitely very different. I like them both though 😊 I've tried Barasinghe once since filming this, is one of my Nepali friends favourite beer! It's nice 😁

19:43 Bitter Gourd, or Karela as it's known in the region, is an acquired taste. Also depends on how it's cooked. Some people salt and wash the bitterness out of it, some keep all the bitterness in. It can be very nice. In Pakistan we often cook it mixed with meat and it's delicious.
@TheJourneyofJosh7 ай бұрын
Yeah I have had it prepared differently since this video and enjoyed it 😁

Hope you are enjoying your trip in Nepal. Watching late night from Australia. I'd highly recommend you go do the bungee jump at The Cliff in Kushma. It's got the highest bungee in Nepal (218 m) and is top 3 in the world I think. Did it last year. Although its 1.5 hr trip from Pokhara, it's worth it if you are a thrill seeker. I'm guessing you are already in Pokhara so hope you are enjoying there.

I loved my trip in Nepal thank you! Appreciate you tuning in from down under 😊 I did the bungee twice and also did the canyon swing twice 😜 video coming in a couple weeks, I absolutely loved it! 🥳

The way you eat daal bhaat tarkari is take any side dish one by one according to your wish with the rice mix it and take it with four fingers and use your thumb to scoop into your mouth. The green thing is bitter gourd which you thought is lotus root.

There is a reason we use our hands to eat the food, it's about using all the five senses when you eat. 1. You see the food. 2. You use your hand (touch) to get a sense of how hot it is to send the signals to the brain to decide whether to eat or wait for some time. 3. Smell and 4. Taste of course. 5. And hear when you chew them

Hello, Josh! I am not sure if someone has posted about it, It is not beetroot, it is bitter gourd or bitter melon. In the Philippines, we call it Ampalaya. I dont like it either. But if prepared and cooked properly, you wont get the bitter taste. It is prepared in many ways, pickled, salads, veggie soups. And maybe the white crunchy one is turnip (or u may be right, raddish), just a guess ☺

You did it the right way. It was bitter gourd, bitter in taste and sometimes also made into chips to add texture. Also you don’t have much practice to eat with hands so it seems slow, but we eat food super fast, usually 4 to 5 min to eat all that you ate😄 Also when you are eating i noticed you leave your index finger, if you don’t let it go it’ll help you more and enhance your experience of eating with hand. Gundruk is spinach or other green vegetable which is sun dried and fermented which is why it has a strong earthy smell. Please enjoy your stay here in Nepal❤
