If more people testing out those portable sauna tents actually used a thermometer inside, it would make their reviews way more believable. You know, showing the real temperature people are dealing with in there.

Just FYI, these things aren’t new. I’ve been using them for probably about 10 years now and I bought mine off of Amazon for much cheaper. Christie needs to cover her butt. I’ve also always used my own camping chair the type that you pull out at events where you want to sit outside and they fold up. I also use Abolene to increase sweating and weight loss as boxers do.

I've owned the Saunabox for about 2 weeks now. Regarding assembly, a small amount of Vaseline in the joints will go a long way in aiding the assembly. If everything is seated properly, I don't believe the bowing of the substructure that you observed will occur. I did not experience that. You do have to use care in placing the tent over the substructure. If you are patient and allow the material to adapt, it really goes together quite easily. Once assembled, the entire tent is very strong and can be easily lifted and moved. Regarding the steamer, I disagree with the "cheap" comment. I really don't know how you define this. I found the steamer well-made and basically functioning as advertised. I've settled on a 30-minute session on level 6. I really don't use the chair and instead do various functional moves while in the steam. Distilled water is necessary, and I advise buying a good distiller for this purpose. It can truly save a ton of money, and for me it's been working out well. Be sure to thoroughly wipe down the tent after each use and be sure the sweat mat is periodically cleaned. I would also advise, about once a month, checking and gently cleaning the tubing. Biofilm can form in the moist environment when the unit is not in operation, and this should be addressed. Overall, I just love the Saunabox. I work out daily and I find my trip inside the Saunabox my reward. I'm definitely noting physiologic changes that are very beneficial. For the relatively small investment, this is a no brainer. A word of warning. I've noticed saunas on the market moving into the redlight and infrared arena. I do believe the benefits of both of these modalities, especially after long exposure truly hasn't been well defined in the literature, especially compared to wet steam saunas which the benefits are well documented. I was a dentist for 38 years, now retired and my advice to all is that there are no magic bullets. Be careful out there. The Saunabox is a win for me.

A sauna tent does not need to be that big just big enough to fit a chair a smaller tent does not require poles and much easier to heat
@dan.devilbrand
@dan.devilbrand Жыл бұрын
Couple problems that I see which has kept me from buying one. Mold and bacteria buildup from both sweat and excess water. Chemical release from the heating of the materials inside of the sauna. Must purchase distilled water for each use because you wouldn’t want to inhale tap water, and it would also put excess pollutants and mineral deposits inside of the steam tent.
@paulc9322
@paulc9322 Жыл бұрын
Steam is distilled water lol
@dan.devilbrand
@dan.devilbrand Жыл бұрын
@@paulc9322 No, distilled water is made from the collection of steam in an entirely separate vessel. If you’re directly inhaling steam from unfiltered tap water you’re also inhaling whatever chems and chlorine are in that water. Chlorine in steam is more dangerous than just in the water itself.
@ShowMeWhatINeedToKnow
@ShowMeWhatINeedToKnow 11 ай бұрын
Mold is my big hesitation as well. Not only that, but you're releasing a whole bunch of moisture into your house every day you use this, which might encourage mold growth indoors due to high moisture levels.
@freewillchoice8052
@freewillchoice8052 4 ай бұрын
The material is anti microbial, get a dehumidifier for the room you use it in, a water distiller is cheap to purchase or build, and keep it dry when not in use.
@dan.devilbrand
@dan.devilbrand 4 ай бұрын
@@freewillchoice8052After all of that just get an infrared sauna. Dehumidifiers are costly to run, distilling enough water to fill that thing would likely take more time than it’s worth. Good solutions if you are that invested in a cheap sauna solution.

Yes you have to wipe it down I have it in my carport so a lot of air circulating and I leave the doors open after I wipe it so it dries. The material dries quickly. First couple uses of it though it smelt really bad from the material so I let it heat up to try rid of the smell from the tent it’s now ok. I recommend not jumping in straight away fill the steamer up at least 5 times Before getting in that way it will break the tent in. I found myself breathing through a pipe I put through the window cause the tent was leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that it makes me feel soooo good and revitalised it’s awesome Investment

Each participant came out exclaiming the great sweat they got. Not. Maybe some sweat. Mostly steam. You'll get that same effect in a real dry sauna if you put lots of water on the rocks. Don't assume liquid on your skin, just because it feels hot in the room, means it's all sweat.

Heat rises. Wouldn't it be smarter to have something that you lie down in, that is not tall at all? This is $350. You can buy a steam generator for about $50. The PVC tubing is very cheap at a hardware store. Then you need that fabric that is insulated. Or a tarp that isn't. But cutting the tarp and then reshaping it....challenging.
