hopefully not. But rock balancing just might be my life's new pursuit! It was actually a really fun challenge, and a pretty unique art form. 10/10 recommend trying it!

Those rock balanced structures are called rock cairns and their illegal to do in state parks because it disturbs the habitat of insects and lizards and things. Also, I have the patience for making a dorodango, but i don't think I have the patience for rock balancing 😅

also cairns are used to mark hiking trails! making them in random places can get hikers lost. fun to do down at a river like this, or to practice the art of letting go by knocking them over when you’re done

When i was in a science camp one of the nature guides told our group that rock stacking is bad for the environment. It has living organisms living on/in it, and stacking rocks up makes a mess. Its plenty fun to stack rocks in the wild, but please make sure to take your stack down afterwards 🌿💚

Maby it would be helpful to place them on a surface where the lowest rock has three connection points. And maby it would be even more helpful to find the sweatspot for the lower rocks too. They are the foundation after all and smaller mistakes on the top ones won't do as much of a difference when you take your time for the lower ones? Not an expert btw Yeah, I dig your rock joke. The dad potential is strong in us. xD
