I play Blades and the main difference I find is you can tell when you miss it and where on the club face much easier than you can with game improvement clubs. Loft for loft there’s a small drop off but you also don’t have the explosive flyers that go over the green that can happen with game improvement clubs.

I agree. Modern irons are 4-6 degrees stronger than my mp14. You are right about the flyers. But I’m about 15-20 yards short on a toe mishit. But I’ll deal with that all day for a beautiful top line

@ agreed. I have considered switching shafts though recently. Looking to regrip and pondered an upgrade from the standard dynamic gold s300. I played rifles for a while but swing speed is back down. Heard good things about “some” of the kbs shafts

I play a set of TW irons myself. I get better results from irons with narrow soles and these tick that box. HCP is currently a 3.8

Yes. I think the loft is helping, and the backspin is preventing any major side spin from taking over. I play blades to prevent the super long shot that is get with cavity back irons. Trevor, the swing weight can be a factor, but the loft and back spin are a factor, too.

No, I worked with my coach, and he agreed it was time to move into them 6 years ago. The blades provided better control. Plus, being forged, after making a swing change, I didn't have to buy new iron set, when I needed to adjust my lie to be more flat.

I play them since they came out absolutely love them there not as long as because lofts are very soft but there effortless to hit and str8 ❤

Yes - blades focus you. Alex at Orka golf promotes the correct loft and spin. Marketing departments have been pulling the wool over our eyes for years

Currently play zx5 MK2 and as I get better with my ball striking, my coach told me to try to go for a more players iron, blades, etc. currently my ball flight is too high. So blades help keep the ball flight low on the short irons. If you are giving one of those away, I WOULD LOVE to play them. ♥️

This was an awesome clip. I bought a set back in November and living in the North East I only played them a few times but man I think these irons are awesome - I am in the same boat as you two though time will tell 10 handicap here. I have hit well over a thousand balls with them into the net so I am looking forward to gaming them this year. I also play the Tiger wedges but the older MG2 which was the original wedges from Tiger and TM they also are great feeling as well. Thanks for this clip it was great seeing these awesome clubs being hit. Mine have MMT 105S shafts in the irons and S200 in the wedges.

@@trevorboyd2715 yes yeah I am a MMT fan so I figured why not give it a go seems like the MMT shafts really do help out with the feel and swing weight is still D4 with midsize grips Z-cord and 4 lower wraps plus 4 upper wraps length cut length +1/2" time will tell though - usually play 100 rounds a year

Have played blades in the past. Found them surprisingly playable - bad shots tend to be short but straight, and then never provided that big jumper that sometimes happens with cavity backs. I can see why good players use them.

Yes. I game the P-7MCs pitching wedge is 47° the difference is the TWs have the most minimal offset .7 on the pitching wedge. Wish they made TW's in Lefty.! 😢 Just would be nice to try them.

i tried a set with X-stiff Modus 120 steel shafts and i dont recall an iron over the past 10 years that i hit better... and i generally fit into Stiff flex iron shafts. They were my son's set that i inherited lol and was never fit for them... they do punish bad efforts though but most clubs do that even though we are led to belive they will some how save us. i think its a combination of the weighting and thin sole design for me.

Tigers PW is actually 49°, 9i 45°, 8i 40.5°, etc. 47° is pretty standard for a Mb PW, not weak.

Take them to the course to get a feel for what they'll really do. With the lack of bounce, how they respond to grass will be much different than they do on turf.

both should play them once , just to see how it works out on the course. I think since you guys hit it from a mat the tigerwoods iron bounce helped . On real grass the club might dig more . But both of you play them on the course and let us know .

Blades are fine to use. For some people the thinner sole is a bonus. Think about your wedges. They don’t have all this tech. All these manufacturers do is change the lofts to add distance. So dumb.

Yes I would buy them. But they are hitting the window for delivered loft, spin and ball speed. The smaller club head forces you to focus. Now that you don't have the crutch of forgiveness your actually seeing what you can do. But hey I play 3-6 T100 DGx100 and 7-P 620MBs w/ DGX100

Blades are playable. Mishits are shorter but the thin sole for me is better out of rough. I flight all my shots never really hit full shots so blades are great firsthand around the greens

I live in Northern Colorado. And I don’t believe in the whole altitude makes the ball go that much further. I played at sea level in California and Florida and I may lost a couple yards if that per iron. I still hit my seven iron about 185 yards it’s 35° and it doesn’t matter if it’s myPING I 25 or my Vice clubs. My friend who has gone to different courses with me outside of state has the same experience and distances. We don’t change our clubs yardage based off altitude or sea level. That’s all I gotta say.
