Love the content! But I noticed you don’t always wear safety glasses with air grinders or when hitting something with a hammer not going to go on a rant but I lost all vision in my right eye and almost lost the whole eye when I had a piece of metal come back and go through my eye after an object was struck with a hammer it was one of those things a hitch was stuck hit it and it will come out and it only took 1 swing I would hate to ever see someone els go through 5+ eye surgery’s and all the other crap I did I know it’s not something you always think about but it’s worth the extra 10 seconds or dealing with them fogging up I promise!!!!

HOLY CRAP! That first clip of that black Duramax was at Rocky Mountain Raceways in West Valley City Utah!!! I grew up there and used to race on the Oval Track side! Do you prefer ppe tie rods over Kryptonite? I run kryptonite on my 1/2 ton and I love em but I could see how ppe could be stronger cause they’re just 2 pieces instead of kryptonite’s being 3 pieces since they have an inner, outer and a sleeve connecting the 2.

Truck master I had a buddy that had a 2005 LLY Duramax that he kept breaking the front tie rods on when he would hook up to a full grain wagon and pull it to town to the coop!! He would end up breaking the tie rods every time he would end up hooking up to the full grain carts!!! I told him time after time to put the PPE tie rods on the truck and quit thinking about breaking tie rods ever again!!! He had baught the sleeves to put over the factory tie rods and would still end up breaking tie rods but he never ended up buying the PPE tie rods!! He had replaced over a dozen tie rods from breaking them all!! Some were after market ones but never the PPE tie rods or the Kryptonite tie rods ends!!! I have a 2007 classic Duramax and the very first thing I ever did to it the very first week I baught the truck was I put the PPE HD tie rods on it and ran them same tie rods for at least 10 years and never broke one!! They did end up getting a little sloppy so last year I replaced them with crypt tonight tie rod ends and so far have had good luck with them!!! The two best after market tie rods money can buy for sure!!!

Can't complain about IFS... I did when it first came out, like anything new. Having owned many SFA 4wd vehicles. Prior to IFS 4wd. Many broken axles , knuckles... gears... drive shafts. SFA vehicles bounce solid over objects .. railroad tracks...pot holes... extremely rough riding. Less travel to suspension... In other words we cursed them too and soon praised the IFS. Agreed suspension parts should be beefier. But the vehicle already costs 80k. Plus it's not... not designed to be fully launched in 4wd on a paved dry surface or otherwise. Especially when enhanced performance changes have been made to the engine. Pulling a tractor pull sled is beyond the scope and yeah... a smart move is to build a vehicle for such a purpose. Probably go with a solid axle Dana 60 minimum... Not to mention increasing tire size, wheel size and offset, lift... You modify one thing and you will modify everything else in the future. If you're doing extreme hard launches... your going to break things ...So yeah it would be nice to get a off the lot fully built up truck.... and I bet for the right price $$$$. You probably can. So do you curse the parts and IFS ? Or the judgement of the way it was driven ?

I'm trying to decide between MBRP 3in Down Pipe from XDP or PPE 3in Down Pipe from TruckMaster Diesel for my LML 🤔 TruckMaster has a better price and review and evidence to support me buying the PPE!? What do you think everyone? 🤔

Yeah I wish Chevy would just use a solid front axle. The ifs ride quality difference really isn’t that improved in a HD truck. Last time my experience was dangerous when I was in snow and had to give it some gas in 4wd, the front wheels immediately snapped in and the truck left me stranded.

Just saying, GM should've never gone to IFS and just stayed soild axels. I can't wait to get my WFO dana 60 swap kit in for my 05!

@@TruckMaster if the full swap didn't cost so much I'd almost suggest that you do it to one of your dmaxs. I got to drive an 08 swapped one it was night and day!

The ifs does great for its intended purpose. Gm isn’t building these vehicles to be boosted launched or mud bogged. They also have the best ride quality…

@@seanthornhill9503 it's not necessarily about the ride quality to me, it's about the dependability. Solid axles are way more dependable in the long run, for starters larger components which leads to fewer moving parts. I'm not hating on ifs, for the job that GM built these chassis they work, phenomenally. But I still come back to the fact that I've had to rebuild the front end of so many GM trucks that were farm trucks, work trucks, and even daily drivers. I've done a lot less work of Ford or dodge trucks that are solid axle for the same reasons as I've pointed out. I don't know where my path may take me, so personally having the extra longevity of the components is where I've fallen to. I'd rather pay a little more for the components up front vs. buying the same parts over and over again.

I would lay money on the bean counters being the reason for the thin tie rods.

Also, those factory tie rods are not designed to be launched hard after doubling your horsepower and torque.
