Great job, Breedlove! This really had me nostalgic for the original park. We first went in 1990. Absolutely loved the Backlot tour. I agree with another comment, the Hunchback show was one of the best! It’s so cool that Sage’s mom was Esmeralda! The cast interviews were so fun, would love to have more of them.

I really enjoy Breedlove's work! I'm old enough to be sentimental (70) but I've never been one to remain attached (divorced twice haha). But if I were king of the world Great Movie ride would come back with the latest tech and Mickey and Minnie would relocate to Magic Kingdom.

Can you imagine telling your 1989 self that you would buy items such as MagicBands and Cell Phone cases in The Darkroom in the future? And what those would be used for? 🤯 On the flip side, I can’t wait to tell my kids that you could rent cameras and have film developed there in the past. 😊

What’s interesting is that the magic kingdom video didn’t bring around any bells, even though as a kid we did MK so much more. But this video has my brain going crazy with memories, and I really appreciated it! A lot of our photos have been misplaced over the years. I did not think I had done the long tour, but I distinctly remember that oil fire and we watched an animator draw pain from Hercules. I do remember honey I shrunk the kids park very clearly! Does anyone remember there being Roger rabbit weasel cars outside trolly car cafe, with weasel cardboard cutouts around the road? Is that something I made up? Thanks Breedlove, I appreciated the memory lane moment. Also, big business is one of the greatest movies ever made lol

This one got me, I loved MGM Studios. I sat here with tears running down my face through this whole video. The Backlot Tour was my favorite and I loved the Streets of America with the little Singing in the Rain umbrella. HBD had a lounge where Club 33 is now, you could go up there and get a drink while you waited for your your table and it looked down over the restaurant. Don't get me started on GMR. It was a must do for us, now I might do M&MRR every third trip. So many good memories. I think part of the reason they changed it was so many people saying it was only a half day park because there was only one "ride" (I guess BL didn't count). Loved seeing the CMs who are still there and a cameo by Sage's mom, so fun. Breedlove, you are killing me with this series.

I’m so impressed that they had two-hour film development in the parks in 89. I was born in 88, and I remember as a kid having to drop off our film and wait at least a day if not more for it to be developed. I remember it being a big deal when 1-hour film development started becoming widely available. This all reminds me that I need to start printing photos again. It’s so fun to flip through old photo albums, but I haven’t printed any photos in at least a decade. I keep meaning to, but never get around to it. Also, as a lover of the Great Movie Ride, I was a little apprehensive to ride Mickey & Minnie’s on my last trip, but I have to say, I think I love it as much as I loved the Great Movie Ride. It was so colorful and fun and innovative. It’s so good to finally see a ride based on Mickey Mouse cartoons. I just wish we could have both. I really miss the cast member interaction you got to have on the Great Movie Ride, though at least we still have a ride in that park that offers great cast member interaction, thanks to Rise. It’s a bittersweet thing saying goodbye to a beloved ride. Thank you for this series, Breedlove! It has been so much fun! I’m really hoping you do Animal Kingdom, too. That’s the only Disney park I was able to visit the year it opened. I remember those old Nahtazu days! It’d be interesting to see how much of what isn’t there any longer that I remember.

My sister refuses to go on Mickey and Minnie's because she loved The Great Movie Ride as a kid. I, on the other hand, have no memory of TGMR and when I went on Mickey and Minnie's I immediately went back on and then bought the sweatshirt-the only Disney merchandise I got. The art style reminded me of my dad (he always draws Mickey) and the end picnic with just the calm ukulele park (which we got stopped in front of so I just had Mickey quietly strumming) was fantastic. So if you need someone who loves the new ride it's me.

Breedlove, I love your videos like this! I first visited MGM in 2001, so I remember many of the things, but definitely not all, that you reminded us had formerly existed. I do think they have lost the identity of the park. It’s like if Animal Kingdom suddenly had no animals! 😂 Some of the changes are understandable, like losing the rights to the movies in TGMR. But Disney has lots of great movies…Why do they invest so much and then simply revamp rather than expand? MMRR is GREAT! They could have built it somewhere else-expand that crowded park! Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land are GREAT, but did we have to lose so much to get them? If they had expanded the park rather than totally replaced the parts that gave it that tribute to movies vibe in the first place, maybe the park wouldn’t be so awful today. When there are only a handful of rides, and when the best three are often all down at the same time….idk. I wish WDW would focus on expansion and good maintenance (keep the rides running properly!) rather than totally revamping existing popular rides!

Weird fact I know about the Monster Sound Show. My husband poked his head around the side as we were leaving and said hi to the sound engineers running it, because he is a sound engineer too. He noted that they were using a Yamaha sound board, and thought that was odd because it was sponsored by Sony. They said, "Yeah, we used to have a Sony board, but we hated it, so we got rid of it. Don't tell Sony."

Some of that stuff should come back. Old and new technology tying everything together. Right now, nothing makes sense to me at that park. That guide brought some perspective to the original goal. The '89 presentation made the park more interesting (to me). I can clearly see the direct competition this ambitious undertaking was supposed to be in relation to Universal Studios. As a "Disney" park, everything seems so random in terms of theming. They have to go back and remember the classic things WD loved about Hollywood and pull that out more.
