I have a strong suspicion that you have naturally curly hair that has been damaged/made frizzy from bleach, heat, lack of moisture, and overbrushing, and so has lost a lot of its curl pattern. It would be really interesting to see you try the curly girl hair care method or something similar for a month or two to see how it improved! Maybe a video series idea?

I used to have the same problem with huge, poofy hair. Then I realized my hair was trying to curl but didn’t have enough moisture. I recommend a sulfate free shampoo, silicone free conditioner, and maybe a sulfate and silicone free defining cream :) Laurel Sulfate and Dimethicone are the major ones to stay away from!

YAS! I have bleached and dyed hair and started using silicone/sulfate free products on my hair years ago. My Hair looks like it's natural colour grows midnight blue it is so soft and silky now! Also great to use on human hair wigs to make them last much longer. So many brands in supermarkets sell them now

Doris Bilić you probably have 2A hair which is just a slight wave. Maybe look into the curly girl method? There is different techniques you can use to enhance your natural curl, but if they don’t work you probably just have slightly wavy hair. Still a beautiful style!

Your hair IS curly, you just haven’t treated it as curly. That’s what my hair looks like when I blow dry it without gel using a brush. Try the “curly girl” method on your hair (tutorials all over KZbin) and watch your natural texture shine!

Curly girl method is shitty and doesn't work for everyone. Just use some mouse and some curl cream maybe with Shea Butter and jojoba oil you can use oil but I don't daily and lay off the hair dryer for a while I've never used a hair drier not since I was 10 years old . Curly girl method is a cult if you don't have an afro you don't need the curly girl method. Silicones aren't gonna kill your hair I actually went to med school I know how your hair and epidermis work you definitely are fighting your curl which is making it limp and fuzzy tho

I have the same hair texture as you , what helped me when I was growing mine out was regular trims and getting my hair thinned. It helped it be more manageable and the trims made it grow way faster.

Of course I don’t know what it would really be like and people have different preferences and opinions! My hair is similar to yours on the flexibility (?) axis, like not straight nor curly, I think it can just be called wavy in English. I have generally quite light body hair and I remove my arm hair, even though that’s just me being stupid I don’t think that’s even that uncommon so I don’t think trimming your arm hair is weird either!

I'm not sure what texture your hair is and if it'll work but while my hair is damp I smooth it down with a comb then put a fleece hat on. When it's dry my hair is mostly straight, it's essentially intentional hat hair but it works great for straightening my hair most of the way with no heat (my hair is about the same length as yours but it's really fine so things that work for me may not work for everyone)

i have something that might help with your extra volume!! i myself am growing out side bangs and they floof up all the time, so, when i go to bed and my hair is wet, i essentially flatten my hair and spray it in the position i want it to lay and put on a wide headband over! make sure the headband covers the top of your head so it lays flat evenly. that way, when i take it off in the morning, my hair has dried flat and it STAYS flat with the right amount of hair spray. it takes five minutes max and has saved me hours of styling lmao i hope this is helpful!
