this definitely has a modern prom vibe to it which I just find so fascinating. like, this is the kind of hairstyle that could fit in most formal occasions and that’s just so cool how over a hundred years later, something can still look so nice

I normally don't pay any attention to makeup/hair tutorial channels because I either don't care for their personality or I just don't care for the modern looks that almost everyone uses. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL THO. Idk if it's just because you do more historical looks or if it's because of how down to earth and ACTUALLY relatable you are. But I do LOVE this channel. I feel so inspired watching!! Just subbed and ready to watch every video!

Thank you so much for sharing Mr. Stewart's book. I've fallen down a rabbit hole reading and researching it, finding out more about him, his associates, and trying to track down the historical details about his academy. It's led me on an incredible journey, and I'm so excited to dig into this book as well!

I'm a former hairstylist (1987 to 2003) that has gone to wearing hair pieces and wigs full time. This is really interesting. I thought you did an excellent job. I bet this can be modernized a bit by pancaking the braid. Hitting the sides and slicked back top with some french lacing (back combing with a brush) to really create fullness and smoothness to the style. Super cute. Thank you for linking the book I'm curious what else is in there. Those curls take a lot of work and you got them perfect!

Janet Stephens also tried this hairdo, though she was basing on historical photos, not the book (it seems this was a really popular style). It's interesting to see how you approach the same "problem" from a different angle. The hairstyle looks really pretty on you, 10/10 would wear to a date.

I love seeing someone doing hair that is realistic. I always see them doing crazy hair on a model. Good. Great. But we don't all have a hairdresser living with us that will do it hair every single time we need it done in a nice way. THANK YOU for being real. Lol I've seen some KZbinrs that claim to do it themselves but the hair is to..... Perfect. No stray wispies, no visible pins... Perfect curls. Yeah you totally did that yourself.

Your so amazing, Loepsi!!! My daughter and I are huge fans! Now she's asking whether you can post a tutorial for high pigtails, high braided pigtails as well as high looped braided pigtails? She wants to wear these hairstyles, but I think they're more from the 60s and 70s than from today?! Could you do it? It would be so helpful for us...

I LOVE this hairstyle on you! It is so cute & elegant, and absolutely wearable today. Your curls are gorgeous. So happy for you that you found an author who “has your best interests in mind.” The other guy, what was his name? James? - he was a bit snooty, to put it mildly. Anyway, you are so amazingly talented, I hope you do more recreations like this in the future. Congratulations on your success!! Did I mention how beautiful this style looks on you?? 🎊🎀👑🥰✨ ~ Lily

I looked at the book you linked and it seems that the "hair jewelry" isn't jewelry *for hair* , but of the memento mori type, made *from hair* of departed loved ones. I've seen examples of it in museums, and it's really interesting to learn more about how it was made.

This looks way less crazy when actually done vs. in the drawings. I've always looked at those kinds of drawings and thought 'that is a ridiculous hair style, you have got to be kidding me' but I can see how that would help you get a clear idea of what the individual parts would look lile, but they don't end up quite so stark and severe on actual hair. Like, I can see myself actually wearing this when I see it on you vs when I see it in the picture.
