I can tell you, it's even difficult for me as a born Swabian in northern Germany to understand some of the people there. Which is especially ridiculous, as they still believe they are the only ones talking "real" German. or the best German (=Hochdeutsch). But for me that is nothing less than blatant arrogance, when I can speak two "languages" (Hochdeutsch as good as I am able to and Swabian), and they only speak Hochdeutsch, and as mentioned before, some of them mumbling and slurring as f***!

The thing with one village being Catholic while the next being Protestant has to do with serfdom (Leibeigenschaft) in the Medieval. The serfs (Leibeigene) of a local lord be default had the same religion as he. When a village was annexed the villagers may have had to change their religion.

I find sometimes when I am learning a new language that it helps to concentrate on one word, a useful word like "famous." Then I try to use it over and over in many different sentences. That way it gets easier and easier to pronounce and the sound will instantly trigger your memory when you hear it in a conversation or on TV.

🙂 Beispiele findest du vielleich hier: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJzMfKiVrd97qqc Findest du Fehler in meinem Kommentar?
