my fear of going to places on my own with a camera, and filming in public, has defo held me back from making a lot of content that I would've liked to make - I wanted to make this video as a way to force myself to step out my comfort zone and also as a means to encourage other people to do the same.
(obviously not everyone has a fear of filming in public/going to restaurants or cafes or whatever on their own)
we've all got different fears when it comes to being judged and, a lot of the time, that's exactly what holds us back from progressing as much as we can in life - a lot of us have certain hobbies/interests/things we wanna explore and pursue, but we're just SHOOK to put ourselves in positions where someone can have something to say about it.
whether u wanna start a clothing brand, an anime page, a football podcast, learn the violin piano drums, take up art, make music or even just wear different clothes - everyone's got something they wanna do but are just a bit scared to take that first step
im not one of them inspirational life transformation mental health gurus but icl from my experience, the time you have most potential to grow is when ur outside your comfort zone
hope this was enjoyable regardless and, if even 12.5 people make an effort to embrace discomfort and pursue something they wanna do because of this video im a happy man mate

@@thenostalgicguy46 im a teenager too. What i think is that if you really want to be more confident and fearless of being judged is by actually trying your best to not judge other people. You need to realize that it literallly doesnt matter . Like most of the time people are just thinking about themselves instead of judging other ppl . Its just our brain that makes us think like we are always being judged . so first try to not judge ppl at all and agree that everyone is different and there is no need for everyone to act in a certain way. everyones different so be different and love yourself :)

@@thenostalgicguy46 • come to terms with stepping of your comfort zone to be able to pursue your ideal lifestyle. • making yourself believe that you can do it. • i’m the type of person that needs to plan so you can try that if it makes it easier for you. • thinking of the best possible outcome, and again, making yourself believe that that’s what will happen. - and then just take a deep breath and go for it and honestly you’ll realise how much you were overthinking once you’ve done it

I think this is such a introspective look into the human mind. Like the fear of others opinions was never something we were born we. When we were kids, we use to run around with not a care in the world and lived in the moment. Growing up and loosing that mentality truly hold us back from achieving happiness and being carefree.

i don’t ever comment usually, but i thought i’d say something. i honestly completely empathise w ur nerves - anxiety is so so scary in the moment and genuine kudos to u for trying to overcome it, it’s not easy at all and u did so incredibly well!! i’ve experienced the same thing - it’s only this year i have been able to go places by myself instead and actually enjoying it. feel like this video came at a perfect time as well bc it was just the push i needed to go on a trip i’ve been planning for two whole months, but have never initiated anything bc i was scared that once i’d book my ticket that’s it i have to go and i wouldn’t b able to back out last minute bc of anxiety. like obviously i’m thinking about safety and things like that but i can’t lie a hugeee portion of it was just social anxiety like what if i have to ask people for directions or what if it’s obvious i have no idea what i’m doing, those kind of thoughts hold me back sooo much. seeing you walk through that little corridor thing with the restaurants and holding ur camera up gave me second hand anxiety haha but it was also exhilarating as stupid as that sounds. for me, what has helped the most is surrounding myself with people that also ‘don’t care’ yk? like people who just go for it and don’t care ab how stupid it looks or feels and don’t voice out their negative thoughts as well, and then i join them even though i’m thinking this is not it, but i try to let myself feel what i’m feeling and then give it a goodbye and just join my friends wo thinking. i just really wanted to thank u for this video, which i know is different from ur usually content, but being honest and genuine and real about how u feel and ur experiences is so amazing and u should be so proud for that fact alone! let alone u actually went out and did all these things by urself in public! as someone who had experienced what u described i am honestly so proud of u, allahumma barik :))

I am glad this video popped up. As a Muslim Hijabi, I often had an intense dislike for visiting places in Australia that were away from the Muslim community like Sydney City, Gold Coast in Queensland or certain airports because I felt afraid of the stares, racism and discrimination I would encounter from non-Muslims. As I grew up, I learnt more about my religion and the value of the hijab. Now I go anywhere and everywhere and feel as though I have a crown on my head. I was, and still am, annoyed of the fact that I spent years restricting myself due to my fear of others. If there is anything I learnt from my early teen years, it is that you will never satisfy everyone and there will always be acceptance and rejection so you might as well do you. Edit: I forgot to mention, I can even pray in public and block out everything around me, which really took a while for me to work on.

Hey, just saw you comment. As a Muslim girl myself (don’t wear the hijab tho, so I have it easier to „blend“ in sort of) I too always constricted myself being alone in public and feeling uncomfortable without friend or family, but i am also working on it. Wish you all the best ❤

I need to stop giving people's reactions a choke-hold on me and just live life.

I went to London recently and saw a guy walking down the street filming himself on a mounted camera, he had a neon pink costume wig on my friend and I commented "haha spotted a rare streamer in the wild" It was amusing, we werent judging him. A while later we saw a girl filming a dancing TikTok, it may have been a little cringe sure, there were lots of people giving her space as not to ruin her video some people were visibly cringing, and I said to my friend "People can judge her all they want, but the reality is she's doing what everyone else is too afraid to do" Then we went on with our days. So you've already beaten the validity and relevence of the publics opinion by doing something everyone (The Public) is too anxious to do themselves, props.

This is a great video, and came at the right time! glad to see you conquering your fears, i can definitely relate to them. last week i went to my first ever concert and i guess i didnt enjoy it as much as i couldve because i was shy to sing more, interact with the actions or dance a litte, especially because my brother, who was next to me and didnt care about the singer, it kinda made me shy away a little because the person who i came with didnt show the same passion or enthusiasm as me. i mean i tried to live in the moment and not care about what he thought but idk its harddd. and also on the way, i had to go by myself on public transport with a mostly pink outfit and that was embarassing 💀 but i tried not to care. anyways i have my prom tomorrow with my whole year and lets see if i'll be embarassed or shy again 😃 i hope i can take pics and vids without shying away, we'll see- but i probably wont dance unless its with friends 💀 also i'll be going prom in my full outfit - sparkly golden dress, gold butterfly hair clip, jewellery and maybe some makeup on a public bus 😭 oh well its fine, could have been worse ! so yeah, thanks for making these videos, i love the japan videos and tokyo is definitely my dream place to visit and what helps is thinking that you're never going to see those people again, so i'll be taking a lot of pics and vids if i ever go haha. also unrelated but i love your hair 🤩 🤩

the way you described a plethora of different layers of anxiety so accuratelyyy Thank you for overcoming those thoughts and releasing this video, so many moments I felt like you worded the thoughts that one normally has in situations like these sooo well, I can’t stress enough how much I could relate, as someone who’s also found passion in content creating, similarly I’m sure MANY will also be able to relate social anxiety is truly an enemy of progress!!! I hope this video reaches who’s in need of it and helps them to also overcome these truly “irrational” fears, cuz nah when you think about it it all simply comes down to irrational thinking it has surely helped me even by just 3%, i truly appreciate it :3 I’m glad there’s someone like you on KZbin, like you’re just so REAL😭😭I love it Thank you also for documenting the process, it means a lot ameziane, I’m excited to see how you’ll progress in the future🫶🏾!

some people are probably lookin at you thinking wish i had the guts to film myself and do that. honestly as someone who struggled with social anxiety as a kid, the best thing to say is that everyone is just as self-aware of themselves as you are of YOUR self. People are in their own world that half the time it’s just a little moment where they see you, think something, and go back to thinkin about themselves. this is not necessarily a bad thing cause it’s always good to be self-aware but the bad tingz are when you let it control what you do. if anyone is trying to get out of their comfort zone i recommend casually complementing people you see, or starting a random conversation with someone passing by that you won’t ever see again, even take yourself out to a restaurant or theme park alone but just keep making yourself uncomfortable until you’re comfortable and it’s literally sooo liberating when you finally realize that the uncomfortable is just a shrug and a whatever now.
