when you freestyle, try to time your inputs to the small yellow and white dots (the yellow ones dont do anything different its just visual) if its perfectly timed theres a little sparkle and no the line color doesnt matter, it just turns pink for when you and your opponent play at the same time

​@tobysv7527 yeah. It's a music thing, the big ones are full notes, the small ones are partial notes (1/4, 1/2, and 3/4). It doesn't matter as much for gameplay. The other vital thing is Expression wants you to use the same notes used normally. So if it's the letters, don't use the scratches, and if it's scratches? No letters. And vitally, if the base version uses only X Y and B, using A would count against you. For real though, the tutorial needs improving upon.

To be fair, Scratchin' Melodi and Parappa just make you head out onto the songs as if they are expecting the players to know how it works When the page tells you about "available buttons", it means that you can only use the ones displayed on the bar, if you use an A where there were only B then it starts to down your score It also takes your accuracy with the notes, whereas you hit the A in time where the button is to be pressed then is also an extra to be taken in consideration

HOW TO FREESTYLE: So basically, when the entire bar contains only A, X, and Y, you can freestyle only using these buttons (A,X, and Y). If the entire bar contains only A, you can freestyle only using A (Basically just hitting it multiple times ). You can't freestyle using buttons DIFFERENT from the ones that are present on the bar. First try this simple trick: If the bar goes A Y, try A A Y, fitting this bonus A between A and Y. If the bar goes A B X, try A A B B X. I hope you get my point

Just be on rhythm and use the ones available on the bar atm! You can remix with the buttons you see on the bar ... Melody sings coresponding to those buttons and if you hit a button that is not there on that bar then you hear those missed sounds! so if you have A _ X A B then you can do A B X A B

When you watched another person play the tennis one, it counted because they pressed the buttons shown on their screen, but adding extra (not replacing) notes will give you a higher score.

you might have seen people suggesting this but just want to do my part, how freestyling works is basically if your pattern is “A B X R” then you can only press A B X and R, not L or Y, and the pink bars aren’t actually for free styling, they’re just either when you’re singing at the same time as the opponent or when you have separate notes then the opponent, like you’ll get a pink bar if the opponent goes “A B Y” and you go “X L R”

Whenever I played the tennis thing, on the (^ L) part, I just simply did 2 in the same rhythm. It still gave me points, its still just 'HIt the L to hit the ball' it worked. I'd say for the 'support the bar' parts, you do the same thing that it says. One last thing, in the drop song or whatever, Melodii's hairstyle changes each time you play, one tim eI saw it like jimmy neutron hair

Tips and tricks: 1. You have to be on beat. When you free style, you cant just press random buttons. It has to be on beat. 2. When you freestyle, it has to be notes that you have played. If you press random notes you are never gonna get an S rank. Just some tips for you that i know

Bijuu your problem is you can only use the specific buttons on that bar, like if the blue bar has B, A, B, A, you can only put on B’s and A’s to get points, if you have any different buttons then you lose points

TIP! What I liked to do was I like to repeat the suggested letters 2 TIMES! You would also need to vibe with the song like give it your own remix using letter later in the suggested line into what your gonna press! For example: if they say, “X X X Y A” then you could do, “ X A AX Y Y A” so it doesnt always have to be timed but it has to be on rhythm.

Hey an easy tip is that you’re not meant to freestyle or add any notes when the line is blue but when the line is pink you can freestyle all the notes that you want but you HAVE to hit the ones that are already there. I hope this makes sense and gl

Tip: for easy points, when you are scrubbing the grill on grease poppin then spam the scrub until the next note. Hopefully this helps!

BijuuMike look, just hit whatever notes you want AS LONG AS YOU HIT THE NOTES ON THE LINE!!! but when the line is pink, you "must" hit the notes on the line, you "can" however hit the correct note extra times which will also help your score.

Basically it's doing freestyling with all the buttons that were assigned in that section only. That gets you even more points, but to do so you first must master the song. That's how i think it is at least, someone correct me if i'm wrong.

I don't know about Scrathin Melodii, but in Parappa 2, there are 2 requirements to get Cool rank: 1. Get enough points 2. Hit enough backbeats First is pretty straightforward. Basically freestyle while also adhering to the teacher's style and you should have enough points. Second is hitting backbaets. What that means is you have to hit the buttons on the backbeats instead of exactly on the beat, if the majority of your rap is in the backbeats, it is usually enough to get cool.
