Is freezing because of that 100 year old spinning rust hard drive. Pop in a sd card to ide adapter and use an sd card as a hard drive. It will be a lot faster.

The computer just needs a little love and care, the heatsink must be gummed up with dust plus it needs some new thermal paste on the CPU. That would fix the overheating issue, and for the storage problem connect it to a modern mac through "LAN" and share or send the files. That's easy enough. 😅

@@spelledfunny USB 1.1 speeds make getting even tiny files off of that thing a living hell He could use RetroNAS or an early Intel era Mac in Target Disk Mode (ideally 2006~2009)
