I'm a super pro at everything Adobe for over 25 years. But my wife loves Canva. So unless you're doing high end work that pays for itself, go with easy stuff like this. But nothing will be able to excel pro software if it doesn't do the little nitty gritty awesome things well.

This is amazing. I've been considering switching to a Mac now that the Mac Mini M4 is out, especially since Adobe's subscription fees have become quite burdensome. While Premiere and After Effects can be replaced with Final Cut and Motion, Photoshop was the issue-but it seems even that will soon have alternatives. It really feels like the era of Apple being cost-effective has arrived.

Hello, is it iPad Pro 11 inch M4 or iPad Pro 12.9 6th generation? Which one do you think is better in digital art? Thanks in advance for replying 💜💜

When the sale was announced, I transferred my yearly licenses to lifetime with both Pixelmator Pro and Photomator, which since it can now edit multiple files outside Apple's Photos library is great for batch editing. I went lifetime more because I did not want to loose the apps, not sure what Apple will do with them both as they don't necc have a good track record. Hopefully they rebrand them and pump resources in to team. What we have lost already is transparency with direction, forum is locked, no direct access to developers, no road map of features coming up or being able to suggest features etc. Just hope they don't strip code, put in Photos and kill the apps, which is a sh*t app in my opinion. Thank you for making this video! I completely switched to Affinity over the summer, and I am still missing features from my old workflow. I hope Apple takes this seriously over the next few years! :D

I use Photomator, it's pretty cheap at 30 dollars a year (sometimes they have deals as well) and it does everything I need in a photo editor (minus AI tools).

I’ve been on Pixelmator since the beginning, I even got Photomator pro free as a early supporter. It basically replaces my need of photoshop but it is not Lightroom nor AI. But hopefully Photomator keeps getting better and for me is Aperture 4.0.

Anyone who remembers Apple Aperture, and also how Apple ruined Final Cut, knows it's wise to stay as far as possible from Apple software for their digital imaging needs.

What? PixelWHAT Pro? Mator? Like, Rory's KZbin channel, 'Trailmater Offroad Recovery'? Lol, someone at Apple likes off recovery videos, it seems. Apple, back in the digital image processing fray.... well now... Some might recall an Apple app called, 'Aperture'. I remember it well, BECAUSE I STILL USE IT! It's always been better than Lightroom, before Adobe even came up with Lightroom. But, APPLE KILLED APERTURE, swiftly and with no remorse, via Catalina. How am I still using it? I've had to keep one laptop, and one desktop, dedicated to NOT UPGRADING up to, or past, Catalina, sitting around. So this is not just an old gripe - I face it every single time I deal with Aperture on these older computers, there for one thing, Aperture. Apple went full bore on marketing Aperture to working Photography Professionals, which is what it was designed for. So, after a few years of wrangling in most every single working Photographer who was shooting digital on Earth into the Apple Aperture stable, they very unceremoniously, stopped supporting it - because, they say, it was 32 bit, and Apple as of OS Catalina, would not allow 32 bit emulation under their 64 bit OS - because... Microsoft did and is still doing it, so it must be bad? No. Apple simply said, tough toenails, Professional Photogs, with hundreds of thousands of images processed and tucked away in Aperture Libraries. Never mind all the contact sheets you set up on web pages - from Aperture. Forget all it's greatness. Their answer, use 'Photos', their app designed for amateurs and low level hobbyists, to suck all those images into a ridiculously underpowered, lame, hateful ecosystem no Professional could ever want to work in. To say Photos did not/does not even come close to the professional Aperture, is an understatement. To say, they pulled a similar bs move with Final Cut. We LOVED Final Cut, before they dummed it down, for amateurs to use because, amateur brains are smaller, or something. They literally took the market from Adobe, along with throngs of pros in TV and film who moved on from their ecosystems of proprietary hardware and software. As, everyone was moving or moved from Premiere after trying the $200 Final Cut. Then, once we all were using, and TEACHING Final Cut to prepare students for their careers, suddenly, "Hey guys, we're Apple, and we haven't screwed enough with Professionals (and students) lately, so, we're gonna screw up your appreciation of Final Cut, change it up, and make it suck." Thus, almost no one uses Final Cut anymore, and Premiere rose back to it's former reign as THE tool again... even though everyone HATES it, they HATE IT LESS than Final Cut. But, the suck is so strong with the Adobe, we now have DiVinci, open source, with a free version that does most anyone needs, and does it well. Go DaVinci. Go Affinity, for the rest. Show Adobe and Apple what matters. So, in regard to Pixelmator Pro, Apple can stick their Photoshop Plus killer up their rear ends, and sit on barbed spikes. In my digital flow, I had to resort to buying used Macs for the hardware, and run Windows under Bootcamp, for all my needs. Which means I can't upgrade past... whatever MacOS is installed on this machine I'm on, because Bootcamp can't run on Apple's new silicon chips if I chose to buy a new Mac. That's okay. Since Mircosoft has become StalkerSoft, who believes using their stuff means they get to strip you naked and keep a dossier on your entire existence - I've now gotten both Microsoft and Apple's message, thus, I'm moving to Linux. Studying up on it now, to make that happen by Spring, and never looking back. Food for thought, Peoples. Stop supporting these abusive tech monopolies. They've shown, they can and will hurt us, take advantage of us, abuse us, and not care one bit. I don't need to be in a relationship with hostile entities, neither should anybody. Next up, it's time to get back to web surfing as I finish lunch, avoiding pictures of Musk from yesterday, saluting a defeated dictator from WWII, as the giant orange felon took power.

Cool concept, but it’s a shame that you didn’t make it even halfway to 1000. Because it gives you three options at a time, I wish that you had treated it more like a maze and turned around from your dead end by selecting a different option several layers back to see if it took you down a different path.

What are your thoughts on AI’s role in the design industry?
@SaosinComeClose
@SaosinComeClose Күн бұрын
I think AI in general is useful for the more tedious and repetitive tasks. Though I'd recommend anyone new to design stay away from it for a while. It's important to learn the fundamentals to gain a good understanding of processes. AI can easily promote laziness and corner cutting if you let it.

The problem is the whole of OSX runs on post script it’s a foundational technology. Seems odd to start beef with Adobe. Although the roots are deep. Adobe jerked around Steve Jobs when he returned to Apple because they wouldn’t make Apple for OS X

I don't want to be rude but this video is basically apple chill and just plain nonsense. I don't like Adobe but as a professional graphic designer who does a lot pf publication and packaging work, a lot of these photoshop/illustrator/indesign alternatives don't hold a candle to adobe still. Even Apple's pdf reader is not as good as acrobat. That last point is an absolute lie. The only real competitor is the affinity suite.

I've had a i5 surface pro for 6 years, it has served it's purpose for the most part. I'm definitely getting the 1TB 13 inch M4 Ipad. I feel like the 8gb Ram on the surface wasn't enough for type of drawings I did when i started to get to the 30 layer range. I never want to experience lag and crashes like that again. Not to mention, working between Adobe and Affinity 😂 So I'm going all out for 2k while i can finally afford

Nice video but I will say that all these pricing are way under market value. There is a balance and a reason why these agencies charge so much, generally it is not just the logo but the brand guide and story. It depends how much time they put into the design, including research.
