Running PoUW on the same host as Vast has been a real pain, each app likes to keep the dependencies to itself. Like you said, if/when we are ready to switch to PoUW, use a different SSD completely. Still use Linux, the Windows PoUW client is not the greatest at the moment, but its also still in Alpha so who knows when its live in production. Glad you liked running Vast, I really enjoy it too. I am running the opposite way you are, most of my farm is Vast AI and only some machines are mining, where its like you are mostly mining and only a few Vast machines ...for now. 🖖

I can see this being the way forward, together with mining!. i mine using vast ai via the command line and have multiple 3070s. It's complex to get woking the first time to mine. GEE! There is virtually no manual and you really have to know linux well.

4070 has been on vast for 4 months still not verified and constantly rented. Your 4090 has better chance. Good luck.

yea if you got one or two cards laying around do this. But me with 150 cards cant give a sht about vast AI. i much rather gain coins in bear market.

Verification can take a couple of months. Their 25% fee is insane but what are you going to do? Vast profits after power get plowed back into the coins I want to hold.

Except there isn't anyone out there that can tell you definitively what the cost of their Vast rigs actually are, that's the issue, thus you can never calculate what the actual profit really is.

Tell yo baby mamma, we making that Vastai money now boy! Definitely a much faster way to get that 4090 paid off. I'm assuming you bought it new so you've got warranty to fall back on if anything goes wrong with it while renting it out?

You will not make money unless you have high end equipment and stability. It is very hard to keep pcie bus stable for multi GPUs. Mining risers won't work. Very hard to get this working.

People are making 15 cents an hour with 4070 graphics cards, not bad for a $599 card. Could pay off the card in half a year, provided its running 24/7.

I think vast ai pimps out your GPUs and makes money on the with cloud compute. If you fat finger and charge 1 cent per hour your GPU immediately gets rented lol. Don't ask me how I know

I still don't understand why people are paying for electricity. I found an office for $400 a month. Electricity included. 3 outlets = 5400Watts. I guess if you need 240V outlets, you'll just have to look for offices with 240V.

I'd assume the land lord will start losing money soon paying the electric included. I've heard a lot of horror stories of people getting sued for using more power than they pay in rent. Depends I guess

You won’t get verified if their incentive is to drag their feet. 25% fee.

@@DjMines I did some digging and it appears there is no incentive to not verify. What it costs you is trust and visibility more likely. I could have swore in some of the talks over the months maybe hawk or kiing spoke of it. But prolly nothing verified. My bad for making you think otherwise. From the digging I did it’s 25% verified or not. Main thing is trust and visibility which if your not rented then I’d say is a fee in a round about way. But like I said I couldn’t verify it drops and google bard couldn’t find anything either. My bad.
