I originally subscribed because of your Descript review and stayed for everything else... then doubled down to watch your video podcast journey as I'm in the midst of rebranding and relaunching my audio podcast. Like you were initially, I've been on the fence about doing both (video and audio)... because it would supposedly take longer, especially if you're doing the editing yourself. I was already leaning towards adding video to the mix, but thanks to this episode, I've made the decision final... thanks a bunch for your behind the scenes insights! ~JMW

Nice recap. I'm a huge KZbin and video podcast fan. Actually think it was a good idea for Google to shutter Google Podcast and move to KZbin Music. I've seen decent view numbers on my video podcast, on my KZbin channel, despite being very inconsistent with the podcast. Some may overlook the fact that having a video podcast on KZbin CAN help grow your channel, like you pointed out. I am curious though, why not use something like Spotify to upload your video version too as well? It would give you the audio+video combo too.

@@KevinKolbe thanks Kevin! I know Spotify now lets podcasters go in an add the video file but I haven’t taken the time to do that yet! Right now the audio version goes in automatically via RSS

Audio Podcasts don't enjoy algorithmic recommendation/discovery... so it's up to the creator to promote to new audiences.... I think doing both (without much extra work) is worthwhile, but one should have different expectations
