There's actually a theory that morning people and night owls are a genetic thing to make sure that there's always someone looking out for the tribe. If everyone goes to sleep at 9pm, everyone will be vulnerable all night. It's essentially a night shift. Any odd human behaviors can be explained by these tribal needs.

People with adhd tend to have trouble with a "normal" sleep schedule, we tend to stay up later, and wake up later naturally. We're also one of the types who do thrive more on the 4/4 split sleep, so if you feel like that will work for you best, do it! Just cause everyone else does something one way, doesn't mean you have too 😊❤

@@blackmoveimgaywidow2484 not unusual at all! Humans have a diversity of nerotypes and sleep patterns and all the fun variety we have because when we used to be more community based, we knew we needed people who were up late to keep watch, or loved to be outdoors to forage, or wanted nothing more than to bake, or care for little ones, or to build all day! Society thrives when we have diversity, and acceptance for that diversity 😊❤

@H K yeah! I don't remember who did the study anymore (thanks adhd lol) but it basically says that you split your sleep, how dramatically depends on the person, but at least 3-4 hours between, some people do it like, sleep from 2-6 am, then again at noon - 4 ish. It doesn't have to be exactly four hours, but sleeping more than like 6 each time might lead to oversleeping and not being able to fall asleep when you want too. The theory is that our bodies don't naturally sleep for 8 hours because we're hunting pretador type animals, especially those of us with with neurodiverity on the adhd side of things. (I mean really, when is the last time you saw someone with adhd do any one thing for 8 hours and not struggle, not looking at you hyperfocus lol) It's harder to do in most of today's societies, but some countries actually still practice this type of living, like Italy I believe, and if it's something that you can try and it appeals to you, I reccomend giving it a go 😊

@H K I can only speak for myself but through my college days I thrived on going to bed at 4/5am waking up around 8-9am to go to class and then after classes going to bed (around 3 or 4 pm) waking up around 8 pm going out and then getting all my work done. In total I was getting around 8 hours of sleep a day I just was splitting those hours into two 4 hour chunks of time

I hate floaty things in my bath water, if you want to keep the oats contained - try pouring them into an old nylon tight, or even an old sock with a rubber band at the top. This keeps your drain from clogging as well. I'm glad your reaction stopped at a rash and didn't get worse!!!

Sleep psychology is really interesting. One reason you might find it hard to sleep even if you've been tired all day is BECAUSE you've been tired. You've been tired so you will have done less, or felt less productive. So you dont sleep because your brain feels like its wasted a day and/or needs to do more to make the day "worthwhile". Even though you know that not sleeping will exacerbate the problem your brain just wont listen.

Thanks for normalising chaos 😆 Seriously though, if you're having an allergic reaction the most important thing to have is the antihistamines (the tablets your friend brought) - these will actually stop the reaction. The other stuff is just soothing, but probably won't stop the reaction particularly if the allergen is still present.

Hi Taz, the reason you won’t fall asleep till 3am despite going to bed earlier is because your circadian rhythm is preventing you from falling asleep. Because you’ve been sleeping and waking up at certain times regularly, you body has changed it’s circadian rhythm to match. When you decide to sleep and wake up earlier, your body will take some time to adjust, and so you won’t be able to make your body fall asleep early, even if you have been tired the whole day. Trust me, I have the same problem. Also, earlier you were trying to fall asleep, and you decidedly to scroll on your phone. While it’s a way to pass the time, the light will cause your body to think it’s daytime and will keep you up. If you wanted to sleep more, put your phone aside and turn off all lights in your room, close your eyes and just wait. Next thing you know, you’ll be awake for the next day.

It's a comprehensive test used to diagnose sleep disorders, I just had mine done and found out that my brain doesn't rest even when I'm "fully asleep", that's why I'm always so tired and exhausted even if I just slept for 10hours. P.s : love you and Moon's happy vibes, your videos always make me feel so much better and happier =)

@@jessicab5970 you have to change your lifestyle (easy said byt hardly done 🤷🏽‍♀️). Which means, exposing yourself to natural light early in the morning, exercise more (in the morning too), stay hydrated, avoid taking naps during the day, stop eating 3 hours before going to bed, avoid stimulants like using your phone, watching tv at least 2 hours before going to bed ... Apparently there are also therapies specifically for insomnia and sleep deprivation. I highly recommend to either go see a neurologist or psychotherapist for deeper understanding of the problem. May we all be able sleep in peace and wake up full of energy and positive vibes 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

I could never stick to them. I really respect people who can sleep early.

That would be the ADHD Taz. Really it's common to have a "natural" sleep schedule closer to 4 to 12 if you are neurodivergent. I'm autistic and before taking meds I usually fell asleep between 2 and 4 regardless of how much sleep I had, I could have all nighters and then don't fall asleep until those times. If you ask me, things will be easier if you stop trying things like "normal people". Maybe look advice from other adhd people, it's more likely to work. Also maybe instead of going for 5 am try to get up at 8 or 9, it would be easier. Even with meds I normally go to sleep between 11 and 12 at night because before that it's almost impossible, so you could try something less "radical" that aligns better with your natural rithm.

I had terrible sleeping schedules before the lockdown, but it got worse after the lockdown. So much so that there was one time where I didn't sleep at all for 2 whole days. ADHD contributed a generous amount in that messed up pattern. Now I have a much better sleeping pattern, and the change took me years of accepting and allowing myself to rest. With ADHD, a change cannot be brought just because it's something you need. You have to WANT it and come to that conclusion by yourself, and only then gradually you will achieve it.

Scrolling on your phone before sleep or watching tv or streaming will keep you awake. I did it for years. A few months ago, I stopped and started reading books for I go to sleep. You have to have a nighttime routine to let your brain know that it's time to sleep. I am ADHD too, so I know the struggle.

Well _the chair_ is actually meant for worn clothes that can't go back into the wardrobe but aren't dirty enough for the laundry. I do fold these clothes as well, I like it when it looks nice.

I recommend you to read Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker. That book explains everything about sleep and it makes a lot of sense especially because I experienced some of the things discussed in the book, and now it makes sense for my brain because the author comes with scientific evidence and experiments to back up the points he is making. Tbh that book changed my life for real. Sorry if I made mistakes. I'm still working on my English.

Yes and it is sad most people thought they don't really need the deep sleep but a simple shut down shortly to a burst of productivity has defied the body system.

@Xuen True. In the book is also explained why you can pull an all-nighter and the next day you feel alert and full of energy. I would explain here but it is too complicated for me since English is not my first language and it would also take me pages to explain. The book also explains that often kids are diagnosed with ADHD when in reality they just lack sleep. That happens because the symptoms are similar. The medication given to ADHD kids makes the sleeping process difficult and this is how the vicious circle starts.( I don't want people to understand that I said that there is no such thing as ADHD)

If you really want to improve your sleep schedule, then you just need to make your night routine. I used to wake in the middle of the night for like 10 times. Every single night. I started to stop working, studying hard thinking around 2 hours before i go sleep. Just to prepare to turn off. I also turn off my lights off and have only small amount of light. Because you simulate sunset ( by turnig off the lights) your body starts to produce hormones to prepare your body for sleep. Also no blue light before sleep helps as well. My routine starts at 22h and i fall a sleep around 23:30-24:00 and wake up naturally at 8-9am. Hope it helps ;) Nice vid Taz
