According to Naguuras interview with the Delve guy, they're built for people who can only get 15-20 minutes of uninterrupted game time. They also plan to up the difficulty to feel very challenging

There will be a tier 13 difficulty which is just a 1v1 with a really hard boss. Its been confirmed in naguuras interview

Yes but this is not gonna be hard as gear is at limit of m+5 or 6 so That boss will be Basicaly like if You went now and Fight a rare elite with 20m HP solo.This is not meant to be mage tower, it is content for casual people/solo players.Also blizzard mention you can overgear this as there is no scaling, so with full mythic raid gear even if the boss is hard you can probabbly just burst it down in 30sec or something. Kinda Like Brawlers guild Bosses, they were challenging For players with lesser gear, but if you went there with full mythic gear you stomped the bosses during your burst window. In my opinion this is waste of rescources, Instead of delves they should have make More dungeons/some world events.

Saying it will be as hard as a +5 at +13 is disingenuous as well, since in the dev interview that was mentioned (which you obviously didnt watch) they mentioned how the rewards for players drop off at Tier 8 and that anything beyond that will be for "bragging rights" culminating in Tier 13, where they will throw the hardest possible boss at you. During internal testing nobody was able to kill this boss, and mind you, this includes the teams that test mythic internally.

Im pretty sure when they test stuff like This They Use Scripts/tool assisting to play Flawless beyound human as that is the most efficient way to test how hard something is.

I think what made Thorgast such a chore was the fact that it was mandatory to get the Legendary, Timegated, and you couldn't catch up. Literally forcing you to do 2 thorgast run per week. From what I see, Delves are optional and spammable, I think it will be better. I will probably have a lot of fun with them for 2-3 weeks. And that's fine

There is one downside I've seen. The rarer keys are random drops in world content and spawn randomly so you don't know if you'll need one, or if you'll have it when you need it.

Yea, I liked the idea of torghast, its just that it you needed to do it for legendary and no other real rewards which felt like a chore. This seems like a better version of that, like people don't even need to do it, I don't get why so much negativity about it 🤔. Torghast ptsd ? xd

I don't want those random pickup upgrades, that is really not the vibe for me, personally. It's just quite annoying having to stop the momentum of exploring and going further just to read whatever random thing you find that temporarily enhances your power or whatever. It really does not add anything to the experience.

Everything in this game is either too easy or stupid difficult because they have homogenized every class to have mostly all the same strengths and no weaknesses. Weaknesses being the crucial element. No resource managing, no position concerns, no health concerns, no armor concerns, to name a few things. They gave every class the ability to counteract everything and loads of free "big dam" buttons. Obviously that is not conducive to a challenging experience. They design themselves into a dead end where the only solution is to crank numbers to the absolute max which caters specifically to meta-gaming. I remember solo questing in vanilla WoW. It was solo gameplay and I often encountered great challenges, and it didn't hinge on some instanced npc-follower crap. It was long journeys in a big open world. I could look forward to actual character progression from completing hard quests. Crazy ain't it?..

Doesn't seem like the system is built around them, most seem to expire after a min, so it's just an extra bonus for doing side stuff like killing a rare/opening a chest and then you get a buff to do big damage/immunity, they're not like Torghast where they were the main focus.

I'm guessing the powerups are there to help less experienced players get through the delves. It'd be nice if there was an option to disable them, and maybe even an achievement for not using any powerups in the more difficult tiers. Still, I really like the idea of delves.

I think the the small buffs arent a big deal its a nice touch. Theres no build to chase (as it appears here) which i think is the most important. If you didnt pick up a single one, would you feel bad? Nope. Solid W

I really don't like the time to kill being so short on retail, it looked like you were 10 levels above and fully raid geared... but no you were in starting greens. This is the biggest reason keeping me away from retail. Even though I think they're heading in the right direction, the foundation has just permanently changed.

Needs to be more challenging off the start. No kiting needed, frost novas, sheeps, etc. Things dying too fast. Once you get gear it should start getting easier, so gear feels more impactful. This has been the problem with retail for many years now. The power ups shouldn't be in the game either.

I think people will realize that finding/using the right treasure/buff at the right moment will be part of the challenge. The buffs look like they activate the moment you pick them up and last only 1 minute so activating them at the right time will be key at higher tiers.

I just thought that thorgast was terrible designed with literal 0 playtesting to check if the skills are fun. It's a problem with the execution, not necessarily the concept.

I enjoyed torghast, it actually got challenging at higher levels, but it wasn't enough to keep me interested in retail back in shadowlands >.> Since WoD I've basically just been playing for the leveling experience and story, end game never keeps me interested anymore, yet i did enjoy raiding in Wotlk and Cata. But I played wow religiously from vanilla to Cata as a kid so maybe I just got burnt out cuz even SoD I quit as soon as I got to phase 1 end game of farming instances for loot. Loved hardcore while it was popular tho

Level 13 of the Delves will be a Mage Tower boss run like room, you need to complete all Delves on atleast level 11 to be able to go in Level 10 Delves will be Mythic+ level 5 in difficulty, what equals level 15 on retail atm.

It's a big no to me :( If I wanna play some solo boring content, i'll play some zelda or elden ring or smth like that. I don't get why blizzard spends ressources on this type of content. The last "pve" feature I liked was the 1v1 tournament against elites in orgrimmar, I cant remember the name but it was dope (You were able to see others doing their duels, It was imo pretty hard), I think it was wod Edit : The brawler guild or smth

Not all content is designed for every player. Retail has a huge variety of types of players. These likely aren't for me either, but there is a huge quantity of players who will interact with this, and enjoy it. You don't have to shit on content just because it's not for you. It would be like a PvPer complaining dev time was used on M+ or a PvEer complaining dev time was used on PvP balance.
