Based off his age, he grew up when trolling/flaming started to become mainstream in the 2000s. So he built his entire personality and existence off of it. It is definitely disturbing because there are a lot of men who have become like this. Although, even without the internet I bet he would have been a piece of trash anyways.

@@eri7817 I'm only 20 and I don't know if it makes me old or just shows I was way too involved in internet culture at a young age but yeah I remember when trolling was the coolest thing really and all the teen and 20-year-old boys were trolls and everything was a troll. It was a very troll or be trolled world. It's actually a lot less popular now than it was back than imo because most people grew out of it and saw how people would do legitimately creepy disturbing things and call it "trolling (I remember people would share CP and say it’s a troll"). So glad that culture is dead honestly.

I’m 35 and I promise you this shit isn’t normal. I’ve done standup before and Nick is the type of person I’d see at open mics making the saying the same unfunny shit and then get belligerent at the audience for not laughing. They’re unfunny hacks that think they’re funny and get upset when they don’t get the adoration they expect because they have paper-thin skin and so they decide to offend people just so they get some reaction. It is pathetic. The only people who act that way or support people acting that way are attention-seeking crybabies. You can see how defensive Nick gets. I feel sorry for his kid because that kid’s dad is clearly a selfish shitbag. You can see how selfish he is because he refuses to wear a face mask during a pandemic in his shitty videos. He would rather put himself above anyone else’s considerations and that just makes society worse. If the world was full of Nicks, there would be no roads or public schools because fuck everyone else, I guess.

So don't pull the "why don't you do something about it" thing my dude, i have been, for literal years 🤣 The inceldom is literally just boomers with sexist views exploiting the feeling of social or emotional rejection of young kids and blokes who've had it rough via the ever expanding reach of the internet. It's shown in the media and showcased more often as a result so it seems more prevalent in the majority than it really is. Most dudes hold some sexist views yes, but they'll correct their actions if pulled up, if not, they're just a shitty person. Ironically enough, being a shitty person however, doesn't discriminate based on gender.

When it comes down to sexist laws, blame the lawmakers being majoritively male and 50-70 years old, not the 99% of us working class blokes who get no say in what bills they pass, Third world countries and the like are the only ones where women are killed for being women, so are children, so are men, because in all of those countries things that'd be considered literal warcrimes are committed daily regardless of who you are, usually motivated by race or religion rather than gender (saudi arabia don't kill women for simply being women, the devout muslims who run it and inhabit it do because their holy text says to do so), africa it's because of the exploitation done to their community by christians and evangelists introducing a faith into a country that should've never had it ravage it with war and bigotry like it has.

Honestly I fucking hate people who call that shit edgy humor. It’s not. It’s just offensive comments framed as jokes. If you look at good edgy humor, the joke is rarely at the expense of the group it mentions. The joke is often that someone would say smth like that in the first place, or just that the circumstances of a situation are comical themselves. A good example is Congolese People being sold into slavery by people from Benin. The joke isn’t that black people should be slaves, it’s the irony inherent to the situation (that situation being that Europeans wanted black slaves, and so selling black people was a really lucrative business for other black people). Though obviously that’s not always the case, another decent rule of thumb is that if something is more funny than it is offensive it’s fine. Which is super easy to gauge, because if most people talking about it find it funny, then it’s probably funny.

“Women find offensive comedy funny” then why do women only make up 30% of his audience on an app whose user-base is 61% women. And let me put that into perspective, on his only remaining account, nickfosterdad, he has 111K followers. Let’s be generous and assume that, because this is a side-profile, his main profile had double that amount. So 30% of 222K is 67K. Meanwhile, TikTok has a user-base of 689 million. 61% of that is 420 million. So of a possible 420 MILLION women on the app who supposedly ~love~ offensive humor (which means that many women should be getting exposed to his content via the algorithm), only 67 thousand subscribe to his content.

you’re not alone. a lot of women have this same idea bc they feel like if they somehow break the idea in men’s mind that they’re “like other girls” then they’ll be treated better. i don’t like the overuse (and misuse) of the term “pick me girl” bc a lot of girls acted like that when they were treated very badly by men. it didn’t happen out of nowhere, it happened bc girls were all grouped together as being “all the same” and it was super harmful and it made young girls feel like they had to prove their originality. growing out of that phase and being able to understand where it came from is a good place to be in.

@Masokitsu3 жыл бұрын
I watched a KZbinr called Vaush go into this subject and he had a very good point regarding it.. He explained how nobody is funny automatically - it takes practice through socialisation/testing the waters and you become better at humor as you grow with experience of what works and what people respond to/consider as funny. The first few hundred jokes you make as a cringey kid are most likely not going to be funny, is what I mean lol... He went onto explain how this is more difficult for young girls to become funny, as they are immediately shut down and mocked continuously on a larger scale (in part due to societal standards). So most young girls who want to and try to be funny give up on practicing humor even though they have the ability to be. So most never reach that level through experience, as it's just easier/less damaging to be what is expected of us (cute and docile -- and that's what most younger girls strive for in-turn) to avoid that mockery and instant shut down. I can't speak as to the level of Truth this speaks, but it makes sense to me and I found it interesting nonetheless.

I have a joke with one of my closest female friends where I act like a bumbling misogynistic fool. Stuff like "hush, the men are talking", and "women can't be funny, silly girl." The jokes are inherently misogynistic, but it works (at least between us) because we both know that what I'm saying is stupid and represents a belief I don't hold as a stupid thing to believe. The only time a joke like that works is when there's an existing understanding between all parties that the joke revolves around misogyny being stupid and bad.

@@1bingbongtingtong1 Not necessarily true. Someone may be an idiot, but sometimes it does indeed take intelligence to get past gaslighting and straw man arguments, and break down exactly why what they're saying is wrong, and give a solid rebuttal to sway opinion as well. There are many beliefs and opinions that are very widespread that are completely wrong, such as clothes being the reason women do or dont get assualted, to give an example of something Nick would say, that you would have to thoroughly break down in order to say why its wrong, because it is such a widespread, solidified belief, which takes intelligence, because you yourself have to understand the point their making, and the mentality behind it. It's sort of like with math, someone may be able to tell you your answer is wrong, but they may not be able to explain why it's wrong, which is necessary for the mistake to stop being made, and for you to understand how to come to the correct answer, or at least how they got there. Also, a debate is a "formal" argument, which just means it's done in a public meeting, which means that setting up a time to do it and doing it on his show would be by definition a debate.

“Women find offensive comedy funny” as a woman who can appreciate a good joke, I have two points to make. 1. If all your comedy is hinging on the fact that it’s offensive, you’re not funny. And 2. What Nick Foster does is not funny. Not even a little chuckle worthy.

@plipplop17693 жыл бұрын
Exactly what people don't get about offensive jokes is that for it to be funny it has to be obvious that you don't believe in it or that you're making fun of the concept. When the offensive joke is just what the offensive shit normally is but prefaced with "it's a joke!", it's just plain gross.
@dirtydan52813 жыл бұрын
exactly. and men making sexist jokes about women, is punching down. historically men have been held at a higher regard than women, and men making shitty jokes at women's expense just reinforces that hierarchy. there is a difference between making a joke about women that women are supposed to laugh at, and making a joke about women that men are supposed to laugh at. same with gay jokes, racial jokes, trans jokes, etc. if the person making the joke holds a class where they are in a position of power over the subject of the joke, it just contributes to oppressive systems.
