honestly this is better than any tutorial i could ever search for--i love the in-depth exploration in the different methods and where they stand on par with other people's skill, and sharing your own experience makes it feel more personal I've been animating with moon for like 3 or 4 years now and have been anxiously on the fence on switching to blender, but this video makes it seem so much less intimidating
@Jackiepwners5 сағат бұрын
I'm glad I could provide some insight despite my skill. I'm hoping folks make videos like this one with their own experiences. I'm glad you pointed out the personal aspect because I worried that folks wouldn't see this as a subjective / opinion-based video and would dismiss it as fact (even though it's not). It took me a few tries to dip my toes into Blender but I'm sure you could familiarize yourself pretty easily due to your existing 3+ years of Moon experience! When the time comes, I wish ye the best of luck 😎

Fun fact: In Blender I like a lot animating using the Interpolation Mode "Constant". If you go frame by frame it makes it snappier and feels more like the In Studio, which I like a lot, since you have more control, and you have a lot of freedom, just like animating in 2D (drawing)!

I'm doing Roblox animations with Moon Animator 2 and yes it's time consuming. You have to focus on it, less distraction, and don't forget to take small breaks (even it's 5/10 mins for every hour). My tips is, try to implement your real-life movement and applicate it on Moon, it makes your animation more natural. I'm gonna try Blender this month

Very interesting thing to point out when it comes to the accessibility to hardware. I used to be on a real jank PC that couldn't run Studio at Voxel for more than 25 frames back in 2020. Can't imagine running Blender on that thing. Had to make-do and improvise in Studio a bunch LOL

@LamarrLoverКүн бұрын
You probably know this but you can have linear keyframes in blender just like in-studio. That way, you have the accuracy of blender with the snappy-ness of in-studio animation. With this, in-studio animation is made redundant imo as I find in-studio a lot more "inaccurate" and fiddly than blender
@Jackiepwners23 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I do actually set my keyframes in Blender to linear at 5:14 at some point, but I keep the weights automatic to keep the transition from pose to pose smoother. I think I can still fiddle with it in a way where the snappiness can still show (I guess by only setting certain keyframes to linear), but I do agree that Blender does make these things easier.
@pacomatic983315 сағат бұрын
@@Jackiepwners It's fair, but the main gripe I have at least is how you say it: You act as if Blender can't. But it can, so it's mainly about having more options: You still have linear, but you have other methods too.
@Jackiepwners9 сағат бұрын
@@pacomatic9833 I apologize if I come off that way. I don't mean to say that, it's rather that the way it's done feels different (even though they produce the same results) because I'm more accustomed to using certain methods over others.

@Jackiepwners18 сағат бұрын
Yeah I agree that there's some effort in ensuring that Mixamo / preset animations flow into each other seamlessly, but I feel that that it is more of a technological process than a creative one (considering the importing and exporting stuff). There's a reason why there are dozens of ROBLOX videos being churned out almost daily with all the same animation. In my opinion, there's not much innovation and there's a lack of real creative expression. Not only this, but the common sentiment is often in financial gain than telling a story. It's easy, simple and enough to satisfy, but never goes beyond what it is. Not to say that every mixamo / preset-using creator is in it for the MONYEES. I'm sure there are passionate stories out there that just happen to utilize preset animation due to technological limitations / lack of animation knowledge. Hope you have a good day yourself.
