OMG YES I’m so happy you tried this product!!! Its absolutely amazing! What I love about this treatment is that it’s PERMANENT! And does not wash out!! UPDATE!!! I tried the K18 yesterday. Talk about nervous. I have the driest, coiliest hair with fine strands on top of all of that AND I was expected to put this alcohol ladened product on clarified, non conditioned hair?!😱 Well...it WORKED! I am not kidding I had the best wash experience I've had in a long time. I washed once with Kerastase Magistral shampoo and did a 2nd wash with Joico clarifying/chelating shampoo. My hair was literally squeaking. After showering I towel dried, split my hair into for sections and used 1 pump per section. My hair is just past shoulders but thick and I feel like I could've used a bit less. It really does spread nicely. This stuff does smell like lightly perfumed alcohol but as soon as this stuff hit my hair it softened and detangled my hair like a dream! I was so amazed! I was able to detangle my whole head of hair quicker than ever. This is actually the best leave in I've ever used. It actually felt like it was conditioning my hair. I did add the smallest bit of Kerastase Nutritive thermique before blow drying. My hair looked fuller and felt so smooth and soft. It felt stronger too. Now a day later my hair still feels great. I am definitely one who has had a dramatic result after first use. So far for me this blows Olaplex out of the water hands down. I can't stop touching my hair. I'll update on your K18 videos as you update. Ps. For those who saw no results I wonder if they are clarifying first and if so with what. I found that the sulfate free clarifying shampoos do not remove build up as effectively for me as the sulfate ones.

The fact that your hair looked so good without using a hair mask or a primer is pretty impressive. Can you imagine the results with the Kerastase primer?🤩 I watched a video of a coily haired lady trying it out. She said her hair was not tangled up badly after using it and 3 days of not detangling and it usually would be. Coily hair is the most naturally tangle prone and driest of all the hair types and the alcohol denat didn't negatively affect her hair. She tried it for the 4 times and was sold. After seeing that I purchased a bottle. They have a great return policy too, 90 days. That's more than enough time to see if it works.

The feeling is a bit like after any conditionner to be honest but maybe it'll stay the same long term. I'll post my impressions after the 6 uses and after a shampoo or two without using conditionner nor k18 to see how it Really leaves my hair raw

@@iamsotiredofliving heyy Now I’m using it every 2 to 3 shampoo. I have shoulder length thin hair (not too thin but kinda) my hair was already kinda dry and brittle to start with and my scalp get easily oily. When I use the k18 mask , my hair gets oily more quickly and I only use 2 pumps or 1 and a half. I usually follow up with some hair serum or smth otherwise my hair is still a bit dry. Now when I don’t use the mask nor any conditionner I don’t see any major change. My hair is still pretty dry or maybe a little better but I dont know if im imagining it. I feel like my little fly away hair is better. I’ll keep using the mask for a few months and see how it goes. Maybe use it less close to the roots to not make my hair greasy. I’ve seen another review somewhere of a girl using it for months , who said it didn’t do much after she stopped and it might have made her hair go dryer. I’ll keep you updated. For now I can still get the same result with leave on conditionner and other stuff , but I’m hoping k18 does a real job of repairing rather than just covering up. At least when u use k18 it makes your hair soft and not sticky like other conditioning products

The key to this product is LESS IS MORE. The more you use the more yucky your hair will feel. Also the denat alcohol is in it to open the cuticle then the k18 closes it back down. I still love my Olaplex tho. I use this in the shower after shampooing then leave 4 min and then do conditioner then rinse. K18 doesn’t rinse out so it is nice for anyone that can’t do the no conditioner

Yay! I tried it 3 months ago! This is the only product that does what it does. I had been using Olaplex along with a good shampoo, & mask. I had Curly 3bc hair before bleaching blonde almost two years ago. I had started using Olaplex before that. But I had lost my curls. they turned to waves more than curls. Some parts more than others. After bleaching my hair has not been the same and I tried every cocktail & recommendation from salons. All good products but as expected my hair wouldn't be the same after a full bleach at age 42. Then I tried k18. After bleaching your hair doesn't feel like hair without a mask/ conditioner, right? So it was tangled after shampooing and not being able to condition as per k18 instructions. but I would apply k18 smoothing it on and waiting about 1 minute and then detangling. Which was a breeze once the product starts working it's magic. Unlike you, I did use my usual styling products after 7 minutes. And after the first try my hair was almost like I had never bleached. I then continued using it for 6 consecutive washes. For me that was twice a week. From the first to the 6th use my hair was transformed. Now onto the second month.my hair was better than when I bleached. Today I finally just got a cut after 6 months. I had stringy pieces that would curl and blend in whenever I used k18. But not when I used Olaplex. After the 6 consecutive uses I then went back to using Olaplex 3, 6, 7, 8 for 2 washes and hair was still great even my driest of ends blended in. but with Olaplex, I had never had these results. The next week I used k18 again and my hair looked even more amazing. Because I had just stocked up on Olaplex I have been alternating every other week. But to my surprise my hair definitely looks better with only k18. And I will no longer be purchasing Olaplex. Huge saving yes! Here in Canada each Olaplex product cost $39+ . Multiply that by 5. #0,3,6,7,8. = $195. I had a few styling products I had bought but didn't use much because with Olaplex alone I couldn't get the results I wanted. So I would use them on days I wasn't going out. But out of curiosity I tried these with k18 and still the same superb results. I mean all the styling products I use are salon so they are good but just not wow. But with k18 you can use almost any salon styling products and you're wow. I did email k18 asking what Shampoo they recommend and they gave me the following 3 recommendations. 1) Kevin Murphy maxi wash, 2) Malibu C undo goo, 3) Neutrogena clarifying. They said these are the ones they recommend that are available in Canada. Since they were replying from another country. They said any shampoo without conditioners will work best. "we do not recommend any conditioning shampoo with conditioning agents." I was using davines, bumble & bumble bond Repair and L'Oreal expert gold quinoa alternating. which are all great products. With not using conditioning shampoos I did see a big difference over time. especially eliminating the Bumble and bumble bond repair. So no need to over do it with special repair shampoos! You just need a good simple shampoo and k18 does the rest. In vancouver we pay $89 for k18. I thought that was pricey but I am actually saving big time. I don't need a mask. Well at least not as often. I do not use k18 every wash now as it isn't needed. With the 50 pumps in a bottle and I use 4. I have curly med length hair. So that's 12 washes. That's enough for a year, almost. since the first 6 consecutive washes... If you don't get results, you're not using it properly. I have naturally curly dark brown hair. Bleached all over not highlighted. I had some health issues that made my hair weak prior to bleaching so I knew it was going to take a big hit. But I still bleached because at that point my hair was growing stronger... And I knew there were a lot of good salon products to aid with the affects. But I never expected k18 results. Yay. Heidi where did you get all those various sizes ? I've only seen the two smaller ones available??? Great review! And always lovely to see you. Thank you! Xoxo

To be honest olaplex and K18 both only can do so much. They only “repair” hair until you shampoo it out, K18 included, in my opinion, on my hair. Using the clarifying shampoo required before K18 actually contributed my my hair breaking and getting worse. What’s working ok for me now is shampoo with sulfate free, olaplex *2*, olaplex 8, and then k18, and olaplex 6 on top on my hair washing days. Then I still have to straighten it because otherwise it looks destroyed still. So idk. They help absolutely but I think they both do not do what they claim.
@AmandaOlioness2 жыл бұрын
K18 doesn't shampoo out though? Unless their claims are false, which could lead to all kinds of legal issues surely? They say the effects are permanent. Would be interesting to see how it goes with really damaged hair for the recommended 4- 6 treatments. I am 2 treaents in and can fell and see a difference. My hair was super compromised and I am 'repairing' it so I can bleach it further without the additional damage. I only have to wait 1 week more to find out from my stylist if my efforts have been enough to bleach it again.

Hello Heidi, great to see you back with a great review on K18. Must admit I was hoping to find this product was not all it claimed, due to the cost and I am an Olaplex fan. But I must admit on first use your hair does look good. Would be interested to see your thoughts after using the product a few times. Also, I know it’s a leave in mask but would there be any extra benefit from the use of a heat cap? I always notice a difference with my hair masks when I use my heat cap than when I don’t use it. Once again thanks for your review on using a heat cap, I’d never considered one until I saw your video using one. 😊😁 so pleased for your continued pursuit for the ultimate hair products. I saw somewhere someone say the bond repair of K18 didn’t wash out it just continues to do its magic with each use. Does the bond repair magic of Olaplex wash out each time we shampoo? So confusing…
@heidiguttenberg3 жыл бұрын
Hi Amanda! So, when a product targets bond repair, I would imagine you can’t wash that off once it has happened. However I guess with continuous damage, comes continuous need. It is true that Olaplex claims to stop working when dry whereas K18 says it cannot work if too much water is present in the hair cortex. So maybe they’re referring to that. It’s actually a great observation and I will look deeper into it.
@afisher623 жыл бұрын
@@heidiguttenberg thank you for the reply, and look forward to what you find out. With Olaplex having the whole hair routine covered with it’s products 0 through to 8, you would like to think you are enhancing your hairs strength against damage. I take the point though that I am continually challenging my hair with colour top ups and straightening it. It now has respite from blow drying unless I use the K-Pak treatment which responds better with blow drying as well as per your review of the product 🥰 your reviews are so honest Thank you.

@@heidiguttenberg I have used this 5 or 6 times. My hair starts to have nice waves while air drying, not too frizzy anymore! And overall it feels stronger. Hope you will also like it and looking forward to seeing the next reviews! Always enjoying your content.

For me, it’s really difficult honestly I very much don’t feel comfortable not using conditioner my hair tangles and is long bleached not easy to style or do anything with if no conditioner literally getting the product through my hair was hard to do without creating huge tangles, when it dries, it feels kind of gross honestly but not terrible. I’m about halfway through. I’m not really sure how I feel yet, but I really wish we were able to use conditioner.

You mentioned flyaways in your video. I wonder if it had to do with not applying a heat protectant? Otherwise, your hair looked good. Question! How much does it cost?

@gabriellablazed64583 жыл бұрын
I normally don’t use product with alcohol I use the professional spray which has 2 types of alcohol but it really does work. I bleached relaxed hair using this combined with olaplex twice without no damage. And one the first things you learn when you start cosmetology school is never bleach relax hair,bleaching relaxed hair = melted hair never did with and I know olaplex by its self want protect relaxed hair during the bleaching process I just added a little bit for more protection. And I’ve seen very damaged hair repaired from this just don’t use to much this will weigh it down and if use way to much it feels kinda stiff. And I recommend some type of silicone free oil after their the 4 mins.
@gabriellablazed64583 жыл бұрын
You can use a leave in too or little of regular conditioner as long as it silicone free and if its a regular conditioner just use a little but wait the 4 mins I like to wait a little longer if use other products with it.

Love your videos!! Weird question,so I want to use your link to buy the K18 5 fl oz but it’s from Walmart is it safe to buy? Some comments from there were saying it’s fake? Really wanting to know because on Sephora a 1 fl oz is the same prize as a 5 fl oz on Walmart.

Hopefully it isn’t. 😕 When in doubt, the best thing to do is buy through a Hairdresser friend. If they’re selling now at Sephora I will update the link to them. They always sell legit products there! Thanks for letting me know. ♥️

Hello, I think I have the same hair type like you, it's thin and fine and highlighted, I keep it long but since I v been coloring it for last 14 years every 3 months, it's becoming weaker and weaker. I don't want to cut it since I adore long hair. Usually I would wash it with kerastase shampoo and used mask after washing, but now I even stoped using kerastase and started to use natural nettle shampoo. I ordered k18 and I m really interested will it work or no, though I m sceptical since my hair is not thick and strong, I don't want it to feel greesy. My hair is also prone to tangling and it makes me crazy bit I didn't use conditioner because I thought it's gonna make it look greesy. I m interested though what is a kerastase product for heat protection that you are using? I should definitely try it. And any other advice? I would be thankful☺️

Ive used it 2 time and im feeling the damaged blonde parts so much better. Now for consumers they sell only the mask 50 ml. The one that you are using is only for hairdressers, at the moment i cannot buy. Do you find its different from the consumers 50 ml bottle? Thnx and love from Greece

This question comes up a lot on K18's instagram and unlike Olaplex there is no difference in concentration between the salon and retail size. K18 says it's the exact same product just available in bigger size for professionals. I'm hoping they do a limited run and make the bigger size available for retail like Olaplex did.
