If I remember correctly, I did a test to see when a country (IA controlled) switches ideology. It needs 60.50% (the game makes you see it 61) and the country will flip ideology. If you read this, try it out. Knowing this mechanic (if I am actually correct, which I’m not completely sure) may help a lot in other videos. Keep up yourself, polish man!

I think it was a combination of 2+3. Your plan was sound on paper, but with your nation been in exile, it came down to timing and relying on the AI. Your boost to Democratic popularity in Italy worked, but just at the wrong time. The Allied AI left all that manpower in Africa, which essentially helped Germany defeat the Soviets. Had there been a second front in France or Italy, your fortunes may have been different on this play through. Great videos, your humour keeps me coming back! :)

definitely a case of germany being OP in man the guns. I didn't seriously start playing past 1940 until man the guns as I started achievement hunting. I havent seen the allies win a single time. Even with me holding brabant and holland in the netherlands, they still managed to accomplish nothing. kind of annoying and hopefully will be fixed in the next update

Theres also another way to keep manpower too. Move your divisions to somewhere else like france or uk, and clicked disband once and wait. After you capitulate click ok (at the second box that asks if you are sure or not) and later you can train divisions and deploy them to the centre of london. Also if you don’t have convoys there is a way to transport divisions without convoys too.

this was an amazing video! I'd wager that if you tried again, it would go better. The plan seems sound and it'd probably work given multiple attempts, and while I'd love to see that, It's probably a lot of not-so-fun work staring at the screen waiting for plans to come to fruition so don't push yourself to do another video like this if you don't want to. Personally, this weird wacky approach to the game you take in your challenges is some of the best HOI4 content on KZbin imo and I'd love to see more!

C. Does seem to be a big problem here, but perhaps better timing with the coups and more micro to lessen the chance that they flip inappropriately would have helped to some extent. It also seems like this highlights some things that Paradox either hasn't considered or hasn't figured out yet, like that chance to accidentally flip a country but keep them in the faction and war when a coup was in progress. OTOH, I could see them being worried about some exploit of staging coups to lock governments in place by never having the coup actually fire, but that seems a bit too convoluted compared to the obvious problem encountered here.

Ideas: -Start italy coup right before danzig or war -Boost popularity in germany anyway, goebbel's effects are reduced the higher fascist support they have anyway. You could potentially cheese them with a 30% democratic coup or at least hurt their stability -Try to get enough warscore to ask for iceland/african territories later on

points 1 and 2 won't work. Before the war Italy has too much stability There is currently a bug that causes your own advisors to be immune to political party support nerfs (Goebbels gets max efficiency always)

@@Taureor I did a run through myself and I've found that the following leads to a greater degree of success: -Getting the coup in Italy off (I started planning the coup immediately after ww2 broke out) is essential if they don't flip before the war. The allies will very quickly take Africa and the ME and despite their poor AI will eventually help out in Europe. -The Japan coup needs to go off very soon after Japan declares on the Philippines and preferably before China capitulates. Very RNG based as best results are achieved when China is still alive. This usually brings China into the war against the Axis. -Nationalist spain needs to have popularity boosted asap. Best results if they flip before they're called into the war. -ask for iceland asap, use factories to build weapons to prepare eventual coups in Romania/Hungary/Yugoslavia, depending on how the game is going and which are in the Axis. Coincide those coups with strong allied pushes into Europe I haven't been able to synch it 100%, but those seem to be critical parts of making this plan work. Axis is just crazy strong right now. Japan always goes down easily but even with an italian coup in sicily the allies just never gain ground in Europe. Some things I've considered: -Perhaps portugal can be made to join the allies if their ideology is flipped. I'm not sure this would have a significant impact, but the UK does have a decision to invite them. -If nationalist spain flips ideology instead of joining the axis (which seems to be rare), they may join the allies.

THE AI NEEDS TO BE FIXED! It doesn't matter who you play, the AI takes forever to do anything in Europe, and never will push through to Germany unless you GIVE them the front line, and even then, they either stack WAAAY too many troops there, or they don't put enough. I was playing as France trying to stay free from Germany, I managed, but I was allied to America and Britian, and only started seeing them after I lost Paris in 1942. Managed to win, but I had almost no manpower at the end of it all, and half of the allied forces where in America or the Atlantic ocean. they just hang out in the Atlantic for some reason. Slowly getting sunk by U-boats.

17:06 I've seen this happen before when I tried to play as Persia.... The Germans have did the war w/ USSR focus, but did not attack (until I fought the USSR). Same for the Soviets when they did war w/ Germany. I assume it had something to do with their improving relations, as both my Persia game and your game had either the Germans or Soviets improve relations with each other.
