It seems they have a very clever strategy to make money and to get you playing more. It seems after every prize win, the next time you pick something up, the claw will always open when it reaches the top, and will stay closed on the second attempt. Clever way to cheese extra swipes out of people who don't pay attention.

I seen places where if you win something in the claw machine regardless what it is if you see something in the machine you like no matter if it winnable or not you can swap depending on manager on site or whoever is in charge of operating the machines and if your friends with the workers or not but this is different and cool

When you mentioned the claw machines had a low payout rate, that made me think of something Set them up as if they have a normal payout rate, but they're worth more points if you win them. For some reason when I see the rate you win prizes (or in the previous video) it had me thinking they were losing money

The trade up is such a good idea. However, after covid they have to be running into sanitation issues. Just imagine some kid just got done eating some amusement park food wiping unclean hands all over the plushie that would get recycled into the machine after trading up.
