PLEASE paint these - You have created absolutely phenomenal sculpts and they truly deserve it. Would have loved to have seen this as a much longer video to be honest!

This video was criminally short, i really wish it was 2 or even 3 parts really showing us everything

Lukas is truly a genius and an artist. He never ceases to amaze me. My favorite part of these 3 units is how he managed yo keep them all very similar in overall height despite the very different poses.

I love the idea that your SO would be weirded out by you looking up lots of photos of muscly dudes, but they’d be totally ok with finding a folder on your computer full of rat feet pics… ya know, for reference.

we love you luca, i think you should make the videos a bit longer or maybe split this video into 3 parts (15-20 minutes) specifically for these series but in general too, you are underselling your work, you have invested so much time into this sculptures and we barely see any of it. They dont have to be as quick pace as this one, they can be less edited too
@kaneworsnop10077 ай бұрын
Yeh this video definitely needed to be 5-10 mins longer to show more of the sculpting process. Too many KZbinrs seem to be stuck in the past when it comes to the KZbin algorithm, it now prioritises longer videos rather than penalising them.

I loved everything but the Plasticard Bionic Legs I think adding some more clay into those would help blend those parts together better, maybe more tubing and hoses that looks like muscles, I feel like some carbon fiber muscles or something to fill in the gaps would help alot

Maybe for future sculpting / kitbashing videos add a shot of the mini primed? When I kitbash it usually looks like a Frankenstein monster, but once primed it really ties it all together.

It would be kinda sick to have some warpstone coming out of the beast moulder rat, as in lore that’s how skaven make such mutated beasts. A large crystal coming out of the shoulder or chest of the creature would be pretty rad!

One more like so we can get a video of Lucas painting the verminlords!

Apoxie Sculpt tip: keep it in the freezer for a longer shelf life. The jars really do last for a long time if you’re not building something giant. However, I’ve found that they get really crusty and unusable after a year when stored at room temp. I usually pull mine from the freezer 30 mins before I need it, that gives it time to warm up and become workable again.

Oh, I just did the same with the sylvan treeman for my oldworld woodelves. another incredibly useful box is the mortis engine, you get super cool bits from it. 3 vampiresses , 2 of which can be sculpted onto horses, 1 which is very fitting for a throne sculpt 3 dynamic banshees 1 necromancer in admittedly pretty basic posture, but fits well into old-world units and a ton of nice stuff i used for terrain
@gaspatshow97827 ай бұрын
Those minis are as always madly beautiful, great job. As a great fan of the skaven faction, i would love to see some warpstone technology thing added on the clan moulder one ! I think it would add even more definition and identity to the mini that is already very beautiful.

What an amazing set of custon miniatures, congrats, Lukas! I agree with many other comments, would've loved to see a bit more of the actual sculpting process - you guys are totally elite but we rarely get to see the nitty-gritty of your work process anymore unless you do explicit tutorials. And you do such amazing work. Anyways, thanks a lot for inspiring the rest of us :)

This is amazing, I really love the sculpting you did on the two you had to completely freehand. My favorite personally is the one that was prebuilt just cause the added details really make it pop. Second favorite has to be the robe rat though. As amazing as they all look, I will say that the two you made from scratch need more details unfortunately. Stuff like necklaces, trophies or belts, fur texture definitely. The legs on the muscle rat also feel a bit long IMO. These feel like fantastic bases, but they just feel like they're lacking in enough detail. Like for the robe rat, I could totally see a necklace of skulls, some tattered robes/holes in the robe, maybe a rope belt with hanging potions or something.

If you're going for the cheaper build thing, use cold porcelain instead of epoxy, it's just glue, water and corn starch with some lemon or vinegar to prevent bacteria and fungi, it's resistant, easy to deal with and the result is surprisingly similar. Use vaseline while sculpting

Awesome vid Lucas, we need more sculpting vids, these guys are instantly iconic, each is a must have and we absolutely need a painted grand reveal. Hate the cybernetic wooden legs, they're a brilliant build but they belong on a dynamic dreadnaught stand in for the admech. Maybe if there were ropes and pulleys instead of pistons to move them, cogs and gears Your musculature is so good at this stature of model, and absolutely GW appropriate but better. He's awesome to the waist, a long skirt would have spared you the muscle sculpting fatigue and been so very skaven. Rat feet are very hard, they're intricate and skeletal but with skin too, hard! That's exactly why GW cops out and gives them hooves instead which look garbage. I understand how going bionicle really eased the strain but after two and a half insane models, the last half a model had to be worth it You're a massive talent Lucas

I made 3 different Treelords for £32.36 (and a couple of spare bases) - Got 3 copies of Stormbringer Mag #40 and one copy of #41. I get em for £8.09 each as Forbidden Planet does a university staff/student discount of 10%. Issue 40 makes the Treelord Ancient all on it's own, then issue #41 contains all the parts to make the Treelord and the Spirit of Durthu variants - but all the bonus bits are exclusive from one another so as long as you have 3x issue#40 you can make all 3 models from 4 issues.

Amazing sculpts. I would like to see more about the actual techniques involved. How do you blend the muscle groups together to create skin (rather than a skinned rat)? How are you deciding where to put the folds in fabric to make it look realistic? This is a super cool video, and I would like to see more that would help me get started on projects like this (albeit on a smaller scale). Thanks!
