If the entire axe is made of metal it would be too heavy. Also I find the idea of screwed up blade not so good. I foubt you will use it to fight, but still at some point it may get lose.

CAN YOU PLEASE TRY AN IDEA I HAVE!? here it is make a fairly plain sword not too plain tho, but the thing is ive done a fair amount of studing on a quenching technique of my own. what you must do is when you go to quench the blade only do the tip barely in water, next reheat it carefully time is key, then go to queench it again in oil, and finally if you can rehaet one more time and quench in liquid nitrogen fully this in theory should make each possible weak point of the blade besides edge "perfect" !

Interesting design but the screw together handle will not hold up to the forces needed for the axe to be useful. I believe you should’ve made it out of one intact bar

"Combat" axe... yeah, right... (no, it's not). An axe with a metal shaft... brilliant... I've never seen a more stupid solution in my life. Yes, it is beautiful. But compared to an axe with a wooden shaft, this axe is much less effective because the center of gravity is shifted closer to the hand. I am not even mentioning how much heavier it is and how quickly the owner will get tired of fencing with it.
