Didn't know that Hastein was a Dane, but makes sense considering that the Swedes were more into trading and playing tall, which created a foundation for expanding the success of Sweden later on. The Danes were big on colonization and the Norwegian vikings generally explored and colonized unsettled lands although Cork and Dublin were colonized by Norwegians, or at least ended up speaking western old Norse.
