I’d also love this!! Even if they need to crowdfund it so it’s more financially sustainable for the studios! I think they underestimated how much people would love this game. I’m hoping for an update with more content, and maybe some different endings. Since this is a DBD story, the campfire/queue ending can stay the “true ending”. BUT it would be so cool if there was an ending where Chris is able to stop Augustine and the entity because of her accidental time travel. Different endings would feel extra rewarding for player creativity. I also would love to know more about what happened to Chris and Jaime in the 2024 timeline!!

Yay!! I was hoping you would play more!! Edit: Btw the Linda we see at the manor and the one we see in the film are from different timelines. Older Linda never had Sam show up and scare her while they were filming. She never dropped the camera and broke the lens so they didn't get the cursed camera. They were just some teens who made a C-list horror movie that had some of Frank Stone's essence in the strips because he haunts the place. Which is why they never had issues till it was released in theaters. Even then she didn't believe the reports of rage and hysteria. 2024 Linda was just a normal person with no traumatic hauntings in her past.

More evidence that gab kinda missed from last play through and that helps back this up is when Linda and Madi are talking and gab choose the nostalgic choice, it shows Linda talking about how on the drive home from finishing the movie she spotted Bonnie in the garage playing guitar.

There is an analysis that says that the Linda of the 80s is not the same as the Linda of 2024. This is shown when the Sam that appears in 2024 says that he should never have broken her camera and Linda says that the he never broke it. Or even the fact of Madi's existence. On the 2024 line it is implied that something happened to Jaime, but not to Bonnie. In the 80s line, Bonnie dies no matter what. I have two theories. The first one: the 2024 line is one in which Jaime died instead of Bonnie and Linda, due to her trauma, blocked or modified her memory about it and therefore acts as if the film was not cursed. The omniverse theory is mentioned in the game. Many worlds, all extremely similar to each other, but with slight differences. So it would be a possibility. The second one: The 2024 line is an alternate line that serves only the purpose of releasing the entity. The last piece of the puzzle. After all, Augustine planned everything at the mansion so that every one of his guests would die. Leaving the book on the page of the medallion so that they would believe that it is an amulet when in reality it is cursed, etc. By the way, If you let the baby die, the Sam who appears in 2024 is surprised to hear Linda talking about Jaime. Which would prove that the game has at least three different lines.

It took me so much time to understand that the movie is all the different timelines combined. That's why different things happen in it and characters that are alive in the Mansion timeline, or survived that night, like Bonnie or Linda, can die in the movie. I was so confused the first time I saw it but now I get it. That's why Augustine said she needed the most powerful bits where Frank Stone's essence was the strongest.

Really feels like the artifacts in Augustine's room are callbacks to the Dark Anthology Series by Supermassive games. The Arcadian statues are House of Ashes. The painting of the burning house is like the house that burned in Little Hope. Wouldn't be surprised if there was something close to the Devil in Me and Man of Medan.

About the fingerprints and such back in the day, they had the technology either ready or in process. And once it became available it was incredibly expensive and only few places were certified to run forensics on prints and such.

Random things I noticed in Chapter 2. 42:15 Jaime’s name is faded on the poster. 45:38 If you accept the drink Madi notices that the glass is the same one that was in her dream. 47:46 Augustine does a sleight of hand and steals all the film. She’s leaving to cut the film together in the archive. You only get a flashback of this if Stan survives.

Sam escaping through the portal is, sadly, the best outcome. Everyone else in the 2024 plot will always end up either at the campfire (so endless torment) or dead no matter what, and dead may be better than eternal torment. But Sam can get all the way out so yaaaaay.

As an 8 year dead by daylight enjoyer tho Gab, I would highly recommend playing the game solo versus with a bunch of experienced players. And as intimidating as it is, playing killer taught me more than playing a thousand survivor games. It's been out for so long and there's so many perks and add ons, you actually benefit from going slowly and not being bombarded with tips from experienced players until you get a basic understanding of how things work. People like to overcomplicate it, but DBD is nothing more than glorified hide and seek at it's core. Learning the core mechanics of survive vs kill will give you far more understanding than any meta perk loadout ever will

Good catch! It could be even three different timeliness, first one we see in the 1st chapter, second is in the 80s with kids filming a movie and third is in 2024 (Sam saying he regrets breaking their camera and Linda replies he never did).

@@okmeowokmeow exactly. I think in Linda/Madis timeline everyone lived through the experience accept Chris disappeared. They only released the scenes from the 1st cameras film (Jaime removed prior too going to get it fixed) and the portion of the film from camera 2 spliced from prior to train car discovery by Chris Robert & Jaime. Just a hunch. :)

I do just want to say (because she asked about 12 minutes in) yes fingerprints are important and were in the 60s. But you really can’t get fingerprints off of body parts. And because he’s currently looking for a child it’s more important to keep looking for the kid who might be in danger and alive than stop and fingerprint a barrel.
