My first time traveling a long distance by myself I found it helpful to plan EVERYTHING out before going. I mapped out the airport, the directions from the airport to the hotel, even though I was going to uber anyway, I looked up the hotel and what was around it and it's layout and just kind of did that with every area that I knew I was going to be going to. I actually travel a lot by myself now that I've found a system that helps keep me feeling calm and in control. They also have weighted plushies now if you don't want to use a blanket! I'm in my late 30s and I have a whale and black cat that I use while working or traveling and they really do help!

With my ADHD, a list can help so much with anxiety. A tangible, handwritten list with the things you need to do/pack, and then tick as you complete them - works like a charm!

Yeah the new Loops are shaped differently to better fit with less discomfort and reduce noise by a few decibels. I got the new Quiet tips for my Switch earplugs. We have a bell at work that announces breaktimes across the entire warehouse. And in eight hours that damned thing goes off 32 times. And they turned it all the way up and since I have sound sensitivity issues with my AUDHD...it's terrible. Loops help to keep me from feeling physically abused at the end of the day. Because each time it goes off its like a slap to the nervous system.

I think the competitor achievement is a reference to a finnish skier legend Juha Mieto (or Juha Mild if you translate his name). He famously loves rye pudding (mämmi in finnish) wich is why I think the achievement said mild like rye pudding

The funny and most disturbing observation I just made after having watched all the videos and some multiple times is it took till observation duty 7 to realize how creepy it is that cameras are in all the bathrooms and locker rooms.

When I travel alone or with someone else, I stress a LOT. I have severe anxiety and I am medicated but I still feel it deep inside, I also have chronic migraines and flights normally rly end me. But what has helped me a lot is eating well (seems easy huh?!), asking questions no matter how dumb you think they are andddd crying. Yeah you read it right, I need to let it out, Ill get to the hotel and sob in the shower. After that I get something quick to eat and I take a nap... I feel sooooo much better and brand new after! Its like "ooof the hard part is over and I can breathe now, everything went well". I also make lists, that never work tbh, and Im always over checking things... prices, schedules, routes, etc-

Last time I had travel anxiety, I downloaded some of your Ooblets episodes and watched those. It did a great job distracting me and keeping me calm. Idk about the event itself though. I'm a walking ball of nerves, even when I'm medicated so I can't help there.

I have bad anxiety, and when it gets too bad putting an ice pack on my chest always helps. Humans have something called a vagus nerve that goes down the front of your chest that contributes to your system’s regulation. Apparently getting it cold helps regulate things (idk how though). I leave it on till it’s no longer cold

If still looking for natural remedies for travel. For me peppermint gum. I know peppermint as calming factors but something about the gum and breathing it in helps. I think the chewing helps distract too

geez these anomalies are hard! for the ones u missed at 25:04, the missing object in quality control was the furthest button on the line, and the object replacement in the monitoring room were the extra lights on the boxes (servers?) on the right! i couldnt figure out the missing object in maintenence tho, maybe it had just happened when u got game over?

I travelled long distance from London to New York (and then from there to Ohio) for the first time alone just over a week ago. I made a list of what I needed to pack desperately (e.g. meds, glasses), and once I had cleared that I felt a little better because I knew that basically anything else I can just buy it while I’m there. I also found that it was so much easier to just ask the people working at the airports where I need to go rather than fussing around with directions since I’m AWFUL at them. Enjoy the selection of movies you’ll probably have on the plane! If you get one with Lisa Frankenstein I really recommend it- very camp, Heathers meets Beetlejuice.

Going to events where I don't know anyone gives me anxiety too! I recommend bringing/doing something to reduce feeling awkward just standing or sitting around by yourself-especially helpful at conferences or things like that. Sitting somewhere with my laptop or a book or even taking a walk around helps with the anxiety. I also try to keep an eye out for fellow people who seem to be by themselves, too, and strike up a conversation :)

Gab! Do you know the game Paleo Pines? It's a cozy game with dinosaurs with a huge loving fanbase, but recently they've come out that they need help. They're currently on a shoestring budget and struggling to find a production partner. I'm trying to spread the word because I absolutely love the game and really don't want to see it go. A good hint when reading Finnish; read it like it is Japanese. They have so much similarity's, than reading it in English :) Plus funny easter egg with the skiier; that is a reference to a famous finnish skiier Juha Mieto, whose lastname means 'mild', and he loves to eat rye pudding (mämmi),like tens of kilos in a year. What's also so famous about him is that he lost his ski-competition in the 80's by one-hundredth of a second, which lead to International Ski Union to stop using one-hundredth's in competitions :)

To the travel thingy, I usually just take any anti stress or migraine or travel sickness stuff and a bag just so my brain knows that I'm all prepeared. Then I just don't make much of it, i enjoy the walk and surroundings. If I get anxious and sick during travel I watch my comfort ''movies'' Scooby-Doo haha

11:17 On the topic of Loops, I’ve had both Experience versions and I gotta say, the Experience 2 does have a noticeable difference at least to me. I find they fit better in my ears (I have comically small ears so I find it somewhat hard to get a good seal) and they’re more comfortable over all imo I got the 2s sent to me after my 1s broke and were still in warranty and honestly I think paying for the upgrade could be worth it

I feel like I'm in direct opposition to other neurodivergent folks for this: using sound dampening/filtering devices for me is downright panic-inducing. It makes me feel extremely vulnerable and like I'm unable to properly navigate my environment. Do loud places bother me? Sure, but being disconnected from my surroundings is even worse. It's practically nightmare fuel for me. I wonder if it's like, a different flavor of audio processing issues or something totally different 🤔

Duolingo is good for learning an alphabet and reading comprehension, and the bare minimum of words, but beyond that it feels very lacking. Like you cant actually apply it in real life. The biggest issue i have with dualingo is that you barely ever get the translation. And the first thing it does is just say "translate this" when you don't even know a single word, or better, not even the alphabet. Id say the best way to learn is to first learn the alphabet, and then just dive head first into it. So you get real world contextual reference to when and where words are used. Swap your operating system/phone language and swap the language in your games you have already played, start reading books and watch movies you already red or watched in the other language. That way you know enough to not be entire blind and can see what words are used in the other language for the same thing.

On this note, is there a "picture translation" program where rather then translating the word, it shows you a picture or diagram of the thing so you learn it natively rather then through translation? So rather then translating Inu to Dog, it gives you a picture of a dog. Like how you would teach a baby/child. Google translate but the translation is a picture.
