Tyler, I just watched the video of you turning your sax into an organ. It is AWESOME and incredible. I'm having trouble with some settings on my phone and couldn't listen to Danny Boy, but I'll keep working on it. Send me some more, ok? I'm going to have to say I'm so proud of you snd love how you're living your life. Play something romantic for Alex. Merry Christmas to both of you with love, Bo.

Very cool, I need to try this

Yeah, thanks! It's not too difficult to achieve if you have some pitch shifters and reverbs laying around.

Well damn do you have this or longer versions of this available somewhere?

Yes a few places actually. If you find my video "Saxophonist explores meris hydra..." I play around with it there. Also, my buddy and I have a duo record out where I use it. If you go to our Bandcamp pages, tyson45.bandcamp.com and listen to the song "Church of Dark Star" on our album Domestic Sunsets, you can find some in there haha.

Was that an organ pad under the saxophone at the start of the jam session? (before you played the chords underneath) Or are all of the sounds from the pedals?
@studbagl7 ай бұрын
All sounds from saxophone being pitch shifted from pedals. Not other instruments in there.

Also really nice! But it’s quite difficult on a sax.. you need to blow the right pitch, right?! If it’s a little of the effect on the Hedra isn’t nice to hear.. am I right?

So yes and no. Yes, playing in tune and as diatonically as possible minimizes any dissonances or glitch ones but hedra also has two cool options. 1, it can be programmed to a scale so that it will tune the pitch shifted notes to whatever scale you program it to be. 2, Hedra has an option to kind of auto-tune the pitch shifted notes even if the input is not perfectly in tune. Pretty intelligent pedal!

@@studbagl Thanks for taking time and give a explanation.. I only read about option 2. Thanks for option 1, I didn't realise it!! Just recently got the pedal.. I need to practice and try stuff out.. Fun but have to take time!

Yes patience is key with it because the knobs can be very finicky. If you have an expression pedal, the possibilities are really neat. I also recommend watching Stefan's review on the KZbin channel called "The Pedal Zone". I still think his demo for the Hedra is the best pedal demo ever made and shows some really cool options for it.@@marieke4521

@@studbagl YES, I bought an expression pedal, but need again to dig in to find out how I can program it.. I'm really an amateur.. play beside my buisy job and kids. Haha, no complaints, but it's hard to find a couple of ours to dig in, that's what it take I think. You refered to pedal zone in one of you comments.. I've looked it up..watcht it.. need to do that a few times. still de Hedra is complex.
