We definitely need more Icemen in the metal community. This would be more of a classic rock piece for me, so hopefully those stock pickups with the lovely engraving can handle that.

Genuine recommendation from someone who’s used Drop C for over a decade: 10’s are generally fine except for the lower strings where you might not have enough tension and your notes might even go off pitch while you’re playing, so the best solution in your scenario might be to consider the Light Top-Heavy Bottom sets where the top 3 strings are from a 10’s set and the lower 3 strings are from 11’s. Just a suggestion though. I thoroughly enjoy your content regularly btw, keep up the sick work!

I always love seeing what other people do to their guitars. In a similar way to your Iceman, I have a Lake Placid Blue Fender Strat with a vintage look but just a single humbucker, also in dropped C with 10-46 strings. I have dainty hands so I like a looser feel. The sleeper chug machines are just so much fun. :P

Solid upgrade. I am hoping they'll be available stateside after NAMM. I need one of these. I may leave it stock if the pickups have a decent vibe through my rig. I have a 90s IC300 and some modern Paul Stanley guitars to have that iceman shape, this would be superior. Thanks for the review and demo.

Wow, what a sound! I like it. You can put a kind of a grey pickup-rail on the trussrod-cover. For larger holes you can use masking tape to protect the finish. There are special drills. I am using fine sand-paper. Some people use the dremel tool. There are many possibilities to change the nut. Router, dremel tool, rasp and so on. There are webster-nuts. With screws you can adjust the height of every string. For the low C-String you can have a slighty higher position. Best Quickwash 🤟🏻 🦝 🐾

Lace Alumitone pickups are awesome! I put a Deathbucker in the bridge of a superstrat with the singles in the other positions and it rocked! Totally Strat-like neck and pos.IV, total distortion bridge. Absolutely noiseless too. I bought a Sam Totman Iceman used with changed pickups, Railhammers. Thinking of putting a pair of Lollar dBs in it, or in Ibanez S520EX with SD Pearly Gates’. Cant decide which axe will benefit more.

Idk if it's already been said, but if you ever need to redrill body holes in the future try using a hobby knife to cut a circle in the finish around the hole. Should the paint chip, it won't go beyond the circle.

OK so I thought I should update you on the guitar nut: I actually removed the plastic one on mine, and the Graphtech 6643 is too short for this model. It seems that the stock one is taller and slimmer. Slimming down the graphtech is not a problem, but in order to achieve the proper height, you might need to put shims under it or buy a blank nut and make one yourself. Mine came with some high frets, so I am thinking of sending it to Thomann to get it Plekked and also having them replace the nut.

There are a few cheap Chinese brands on Amazon that make topload, microtuner stopbars for those types of bridges. Yes, microtuners, like on a Floyd Rose. Similar top load mechanism, too. I have one on my Les Paul. I love it. Especially with locking tuners, it is a great boon. Comes in nickel, chrome, gold, and black. I think it comes in rainbow anodized, too, if that's your thing.

The pot value thing is indeed true! People like to call me crazy for disliking 250K on everything and removing tone knobs on guitars with single coils, but I always tell them if I wanted mellow tones I'd go with humbuckers :D Also, some think 1meg pots are some kind of a treble booster. They don't actually add anything to the signal, the rest just take from it XD The exception is Lace because that's what they recommend but I look at it like how active pickups need 25K pots :D
