Excellent work! I have not worked in wood in years. Do you ever find any problems using acrylic paint on wood? No need for a clear coat of wood sealer?
@EZmodeling
@EZmodeling 5 ай бұрын
@@wmjm74 no problem so far. you may need to apply primer first or simply 3-4 coats. varnish or finish oil works well if needed

Manufacture of these sets and the subsequent construction by hobbyists is a a marvel and a tribute to the design and construction of the original ships. I didn't think there would be so much initiative that you would have to apply to the set.

What an amazing build on the cross section I was very impressed at all of the techniques you used in putting this model together, well done. I visited the HMS Victory when I was working down in Portsmouth in the early 1990s and finished the job I was on early, with another night booked at the hotel I had nothing to do so went on the HMS Victory tour. It is a very impressive ship to walk around with me being tall those lower decks I had to bend over due to the height between the decks being so narrow. It is a shame the upper masts have been removed and the ship is actually crumbling under its own weight. I wish I had had a camera back then they would have been some amazing pictures.

Not sure, but the majority of the planking looked like Sapele and not Walnut, like one I built as a late teenager. Awesome to see how this 40+ year old kit still shines under a master's careful and practiced hand. Hat's off to you, sir! Built my first wooden ship model back in the mid-late '90s: Artesania-Latina Bluenose II. Completely appreciate the effort and attention to detail models like this take. Respect, my dude!
