What are you dripping onto the ropes to glue them in place? Extra thin cement, like Tamiya?
@EZmodeling13 сағат бұрын
Super glue or some places call it 502 glue. The reason I use it because it dries fast to speed up my build. However, I found out the jewelry glue works the best. Good luck building!

Aw man, that kit is $173...
@EZmodeling5 күн бұрын
All wooden ship model kits are relatively more expensive. I will make a video explaining why later.

I am a 67 yrs old....just retired...Cant wait to build my 1st Model Boat. I wonder when U got those plastics parts...for this size of a boat......do they sell bigger sizes too.....????? Thanks
@EZmodeling7 күн бұрын
The plastic parts come with the kit. You can check out the Billing Boats website, in the fitting section, you might find what you are looking for. Good luck.

Weird question but... 01:51 Is there a name for this type of construction? Would this be a lattice framework?
@EZmodeling7 күн бұрын
Good question. I do NOT know the name. It is a keel stiffened by transverse ribs.

thanks for sharing, great results. I've been eyeing this kit for a while, probably I will now pull the trigger and get it.

Really really helpful. I got my half built Bluenose out this Christmas. 8 years in the back of a cupboard. I had got stuck at the mast and rigging stage. I’m all over it again now. Couldn’t have done it without this.

A great tool for anyone! Btw, where did you get the waterline marking frame from?
@EZmodeling21 күн бұрын
You can get it from Aliexpress, search for model ship waterline marker. Or Amati website. I think the Amati marker is better. Have fun

Thank you! I just finished the banks dory and that video was helpful as well! I kinda watch your videos over as I go through my own progress to make sure I’m on the right path. What tool is that to hold the wood pieces together for an easier bevel? And where do you u get ur sanding tools? My kit came with some but after finishing the first model they are already worn out.
@EZmodelingАй бұрын
Glad it helped. They are binder clips. in the video description, you can find the sanding tool link. Good luck building!

Watching this made me realize I totally screwed up the deck planking on the rear half of the boat model I'm building. The forward are straight, but I see the rear are curved. I wonder why that is? I made thm straight like the front. Oopsie. EDIT: I just looked at my plans and it shows them straight, so... I guess I'm off the hook? lol
@EZmodelingАй бұрын
I made a few mistakes here and there on that one too. The plan was not that clear and needs to be revised. Enjoy your build.

this model looks so cool! I recently started this hobby and I'm currently kitbashing the Amati Mayflower and turn her into a pirate ship, hironically I used a color scheme similar to yours lol btw I think this Xebec is one of those used by the knights of Malta or one of the italian marittime republics due to the presence of crosses on the stern and flags
