Great video man, i modified my keyboard case using lead as heavier and damper material. it works very well, sounds really good. now it weights 1010g rather than 412g stock

@@Kendingro i hope not ahahah, i know it’s a toxic metal, but i’ll not be in touch with it, otherwise if you mean cause of PCB, i put the lead between layers of painting tape(i used tiny spherical lead), and i got tape mod too, so the metal will not be in contact with the PCB. In my opinion it’s a great way to have a keyboard havier and it sounds amazing too.

FYI you can order red dragon switches at micro Center. Not a bad price at all at 10 dollars for 24 switches. I went with the browns for my gaming keys and reds on the rest of the board.
@Mmmm-jh9dz4 ай бұрын
Huh? Aren't red better for gaming than browns
@Kendingro4 ай бұрын
it really depends on what you consider good for gaming.
@MorlogMorningDigest4 ай бұрын
@@Kendingro For me its all about the feel that I get from the browns. I don't play fps games all that much and I am not that much of a typer. Also, Red Dragon switches may have the same name scheme as say cherry for example however they don't feel at all the same side by side. So if you have a red dragon keyboard I suggest trying out a bunch until you find the ones that fit you best feel wise. As for as what's best for what lets be real, we all have budget keyboards if we are watching this video right? If that's the case then feel should be more important, should it not? If we wanted the best I could do as far as travel time and actuation pressures I would go buy a wooting keyboard. People get way to caught up in numbers and stats. Not saying this is what you're doing just my perspective on this topic.

I dont really mind the 3 pin pcb design. Akko got me covered. You can even get ktt roses for cheaper. Hella good linear switch imo. What turned me off is that weird side usb c port design. I was like wtf is that? Why? lmao
@Kendingro Жыл бұрын
the side usb port is for folks who would rather not have a cord running straight out the back of their board. same kinda thing as cable routing on the underside of the keyboard that being said, having it on the left side like that is quite strange.

I have 6 mech boards right now, but I'm tight on cash. But... that itch to fiddle around and grow the collection is still there. Would you recommend this or the iluvbee board more? After mods, at least. I'm looking at both!
@Kendingro2 жыл бұрын
I know that itch very well. The ilovbee is gonna be a really good bang for your buck board. The K617 has the outemu sockets and those are despicable. Best possible bang for your buck in my opinion would be the ilovbee. I promise it won't let you down :D

my keyboards USB female port broke, do you know the type i would need to replace it, like is it 24 pin port, was it soldered to the PCB or was it connected via a connector to the PCB, thank you, love your content
@Kendingro3 ай бұрын
thank you for the kind words. did you mean for this board in particular? the port on the fizz is micro-soldered on there. you’d need a decent soldering pen/gun and a video microscope (both are rather cheap nowadays) if you wanted to do the job yourself. i started getting into microsoldering as of late and it’s been a pretty fun time.

Can I use gateron g pro 2.0 switches on this keyboard?
@Kendingro Жыл бұрын
you can but i will stress that you will end up putting your switches at risk due to the sockets being from Outemu. those sockets (AFAIK they aren’t used anymore) are made for their own Outemu switches and Akko switches. the sockets are thinner than typical sockets used on other boards so you’ll have some real trouble getting them in there. the only reason i’m not saying no is because I ran Glorious Pandas in a board with Outemu sockets and they fit but I had to sorta force em in there. that was back before i knew what i was doing. your millage may vary.

that unfortunately is the case sometimes. the room i recorded that in didn’t have a whole lot of sound deadening, so that could definitely contribute to why it sounds the way it does.
