Hey buddy, at 18:05, you route your cold water from the tank to the front mounted heat exchanger????? Aren't you supposed to route the cold water directly to the intercooler and then to the front mount heat exchanger?? This would cool the water before sending it back to the cold water tank (would keep the ice a bit longer).
@rpturbo9 сағат бұрын
Why are you running your chilled water, through the heat exchanger first, basically heating it up before it runs through the intercooler? Maybe you said it backwards?
@adamdalejohnson7 сағат бұрын
That’s exactly what I was going to say. Why take icy cold water and warm it up with ambient air?
@nicksz89093 сағат бұрын
i agree, the lines are backwards. you should use the ambient air to cool down the water AFTER it has already ran through the intercooler and became hot before sending it back to the ice box

Should the intercooler line go to the intake first then to the heat exchanger then back to tank?
@ahmedridhazidhane13778 сағат бұрын
I think this is an awsome build but I have only one comment, its about the heat exchanger setup for the air intake intercooler. Well i think its more efficient to feed the cold water directly from the tank to the intercooler then to the heat exchanger then back to the tank. Cuz i think the water in the tank is definitely colder than the ambient air that cools the the water in the heat exchanger so u will be heating it before it gets to the intercooler instead of harnessing all the "coldness" to cool the air that gose into the engine. In the setup ur using (tank -> heat exchanger -> intercooler) i think u will be losing the effectiveness of the ice cooled water in the tank and the air going into the chamber will have the same temperature as the air cooling the water in the heat exchanger so its kinda usless to go that way in my opinion. I hope u read my comment cuz am a big fan of urs and i hope one day i will be like u guys thank u for all the hard working ur doing ❤

imagine running the ice cold water through the heatexchanger where it pics up heat from outside air and then run the warmer water to the intake. Wouldn't it make more sense to go to intake first, then heat exchanger and then back to the ice tank in the rear?

The external pump is also the only way to still pass EVAP and keep it road legal. I haven't seen a fuel cell setup yet that can still pass inspection for road use the legal way.
@edlebrock35014 сағат бұрын
Love you videos man! You explain things amazingly well! Something to mention with parallel fuel system setups, is it requires a pump to put out twice the volume at once (in other words it cuts the flow volume rate in half) im sure it wont be a problem with the pump you got though. One question i have is why not put the fuel tank in the passenger side in an effort to balance weight? Also if you run the rads in series you will get much better cooling performance. I almost wonder if you need to set up dual pass with the way you have it. Either way i cant wait to see this bad ass machine fire up!! =D

You're going to wanna wrap those oil and coolant lines that are running so close to the turbo exhaust housings. I know they are rated for high temps but from experience building race cars, they will start to leak, get soft and the ptfe fittings will start to leak from heating and cooling.

I’m not sure if you really want a heat exchanger on an ice tank car. When you go to ice the car down. The heat exchanger will increase air temps when the hotter air is warming the cold water when it blows through it. Seems counterintuitive. Just run the ice water straight through and back to the tank. Or run the heat exchanger after the intercooler to reduce used intake temps.
