My guess is recognizing vs recall. It's easy to recognize the words English when you hear them. When you produce them, it's harder to recall them (or retrieve them). You did a wonderful job explaining this.

This channel is a reason for me not to give up learning English. Dulu rasanya semua udh diakalin .. tapi tetap aja ga ada perkembangan. Ternyata emg ga paham akar masalah. Cuma channel ini yg bisa ngasi tau, sekalian solusinya. Ga ketemu kalo liat channel bule. Mereka gatau gimana strugglingnya nonnative speaker selain dari analisis murid2nya. Sekarang udh mulai berani sepik sepik. Grammar ngaco bodo amat, karena ternyata yg lebih penting buat aku adalah how to say word by word and how they linked each other in a way that sound natural English. Mudah2an makin lancar, sambil nambahin vocab dan pelan2 benerin grammar... Thank you Naila.

As for communication skills I learn whole sentences saying them aloud. 5 days - 300 repetitions per day at least. Later I don't need to translate. I know the meaning of words straight away like in my native language. And also I remember the meaning longer than by learning separate words. This method is called: chunking. It was a real game changer in my learning process in English and other languages.😊
