There are some broken weapons and weapon arts as well. But yeah magic overall I would say is at the moment really strong and makes the game overall easier, especially when your fighting bosses when your able to ride torrent. I would also say a big advantage that the ppl doing sorceries or incantations have is that they are not as reliant on upgrading their weapons as a weapon user is. For example my Samurai melee character with the uchigatana went from doing about 100 dmg per hit to barely doing 11 dmg to enemies when I got transported from Limgrave to Caelid. While my astrologer who was using the meteorite staff, which for the record is fairly OP at the start, was still doing fairly the same dmg. But even when trying a different staff I found that the dmg difference wasn't as huge compared to the uchigatana. I might of course have been that I fought enemies weak to physical dmg and then enemies strong to physical dmg. But the overall feel I have gotten is that for my sorc I pretty much could dump all my stats into the int stat and some into mind, heck I played with 9 vig up to around mid game and I'm now at around 12 vig at the start of end game while most recommend 40-60 vig for all builds. I do die a lot sure but I was able to rock 60+ int from around lvl 50. In comparison my Samurai had to put points in a lot of stats since in a lot of cases I feel like it's impossible to dodge stuff when I am forced to stick to melee range compared to my sorc who want to stay far away all the time. It took a lot of time to do some bosses however since my sorc dies to a single hit of anything pretty much. Though it has made my melee play much easier since I still play like I can't afford getting hit even once :D

I feel like this game is much easier than previous souls games due to the amount of absolutely ludacris spells it has in the game that can just one or two shot full blown bosses. Kinda sad to see imo cuz for as good as this game is one of the biggest aspects and draws of the souls series is just how challenging and frustrating they are and I feel like most of that has been lost on this game.

Most one shot sorcery setups don't work that well outside of some specific encounters. Spells are mostly strong when you are exploring or dealing with trash mobs. Bosses, solo (without summon), rarely let you time to cast, and the risk you have to take to refill your fp can get you killed. and since you need Fp, you have les stamina, so when you have to melee you have to manage it more carefully. you also probably don't have the means to have that much equip load on you. Also, early game is not that good and not knowing where to find the speels can be tough. Watching video showcasing speels is not really accurate to how the playtrough actually is.

@@xantes0174 yes it is lol I’ve played thru the entire game with a magic build and a katana build and a STR build and magic was BY FAR the easiest of them all and I did it as my first play through as well so I knew the bosses and areas the worst during that playthrough. Magic hit boxes are insane drinking FP pots is the same as HP ones so that’s a terrible argument and there’s spells you can find super early to carry you thru the first few bosses before you can get the crazy ones. Magic is hands down easiest way to play this game

His health is a bit lower due to needing mind stat but rolls take no stamina like ds3 and armor also does very little (which he can actually wear if he put a few points in endurance). The only thing that really suffers is shield use which can actually tank a hit or two but soda refuses to use for some reason. The fact that you don't have to deal with the bosses insane move set makes it feel like your cheating the game

It's like they thought they were designing bosses for sekiro 2 but then gave you ds3 combat with a few extra tools (guard counters and jumping).

Like in this video for example when he fought morgott he killed him right as he phased and said "thats it? no phase 2??" Some people sure are weird with the difficulty and "you are only allowed to play ethical 2h melee builds" But others like me come from the angle of wanting people to experience the fights to their full potential because we know how sick they are

​@@liammoon9309 Maybe that example will help you understand: Imagine you fought a boss for 3-5 hours learning movesets and dying constantly but at that point you're invested you really want that victory you feel like you earned it and it finally happens you feel good the boss is dead it felt like forever but you did it. Now you tune in to see how someone else does on this boss and he nukes it in 2 mins barely learning anything from the boss and getting the victory in a few tries to simply shrug it off but you remember how to dodge all those moves or when to deal damage but he doesn't do that because he doesn't need to the boss is dead so fast it looked like a joke. Wouldn't you feel like that person is missing the point? Wouldn't you want that person to also experience the satisfaction of overcoming the challenges because that's what FromSoft games are about and I think that's where some frustration come into play when you see people complaining about magic. It's not really the best way to express it but I think most people who complain deep down just want others to get the best experience with the game because they enjoyed it so much.

The endgame was less interesting to me because there's less things to explore. Mountaintop of the giants is a an empty waste, the lord of blood area is pretty linear, Farum as well (and godskin duo didn't help). I did like Miquella's Haligtree, but that's kinda it. They're not bad areas, but Liurnia, Altus and Limgrave felt so much cooler to explore.

Had quite literally the best, most load efficient armor set in the game since hour 9, and only changed it for fashion around hour 80 now... Sorry, but it's pretty shit in the end. Fun, yes. Challenging? No. Beautiful? Absolutely. Finished? Not even close.

(Primarily Spear+Sword and Roundshield). Totally 50 different types of Hand Spiders, because changing the fingernails from Red, to Blue, to Purple, and making their scale 0.3 to 1, to 15 is totally a different enemy. The 50 different kinds of Giants, that are totally different, and don't use the exact same stomps, swings, and Chest-Cavity Breath attacks from hour 3 of the game, to the end in the land of Giants. Totally 50 different dragons that totally don't use the exact same Flying Breath attacks, except in a different color (Element), and a totally different tail swing animation, and a totally different stomp animation... Totally not the same Shadow-Dagger-Dancer dude located in 5 dungeons before Altus, on top of Sainted Hero's, on top of two more locations passed the Capitol. Totally 50 different BlueManGroups that have a magic shield you have to break, where one uses Spells, and one uses a Sword eight times throughout the game. Totally not the same SalamanderMan that drops Dragon Hearts in 4 different locations in the game. There have been maybe 5 unique mechanics since hour 20. One is finally having an actual Dungeon with fake walls. One is an area with Blade Spinning Chariots. The rest have been the MAIN BOSSES OF THE GAME. The rest is 100% Copy and Paste in the game.
